Peace in my home

I’m experiencing a high pressure from my husband who needs deliverance from addiction of alcohol and repentance. I’m asking to pray for my emotional and mental wellbeing. Cover my children with love of God and blessings of protection. I need help with a good family law attorney and a resolution with legal rights. Please pray for my employment opportunity to get a good paying job while I can afford and take care my school children.

We join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we have heard the cry of your heart for peace in your home. We know the pressure you are under and we stand with you seeking God's will together in Jesus' name.

We lift up your husband before the Father, for we know that addiction to alcohol brings destruction to the home and is not aligned with God's will. The Scripture says Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18 and also that drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God 1 Corinthians 6:10. This is sin that needs repentance and deliverance, and we rebuke the hold this addiction has over him. We pray that God would convict his heart, bring him to repentance, and set him free, for if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We pray that he would turn from this bondage and seek the Lord with a humble and broken spirit. We also uphold the sanctity of your marriage, for what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. We pray for restoration and for God's peace to rule in your home, and we encourage you to continue to love your husband in truth, to pray for him, and to seek godly counsel and support from your church family as you walk through this, as wives may win their husbands without a word by their godly conduct 1 Peter 3:1.

We also bring your emotional and mental wellbeing before the Lord, for He sees your exhaustion and pressure. We pray that He would be your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. We pray that you would cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We ask the Lord to renew your mind and strengthen your heart day by day and to surround you with His comfort when you feel overwhelmed.

We cover your children in prayer, asking the Father to pour His love over them and to keep them under the shadow of His wings. We pray that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1 and that He will give his angels command concerning you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11. May the Lord let your little ones feel His nearness and may He guard their hearts from fear and confusion, for Jesus said Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these Matthew 19:14.

We pray for your need for a good family law attorney and for a just resolution regarding your legal rights. We ask God to lead you to wise and honest counsel, for the Lord gives wisdom, out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding Proverbs 2:6. We pray that justice would prevail and that the Lord would be your defender and advocate, and that He would make your path clear as you commit your way to Yahweh, trust also in him, and he will do this Psalm 37:5.

We also lift up your employment need, that God would open a door for a good paying job that will allow you to provide for your school children and care for them well. We trust His promise that my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and we pray that you would seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We ask for favor with employers and for work that fits the needs of your family and honors the Lord.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only by His name that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, for He alone is our hope and mediator.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear wife and mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, bring deliverance and repentance to her husband and break the chains of alcohol in his life, heal this marriage and bring Your peace into this home. Lord, strengthen her emotionally and mentally, guard her heart with Your perfect peace and renew her strength daily. Cover her children with Your love and protection, keep them safe from harm and let them know Your presence. Guide her to the right attorney and grant justice and a righteous resolution for her legal needs. Open the right employment opportunity that will provide abundantly for her family and allow her to care for her children. We trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We are praying with you for peace in your home and for steadiness for you day by day.

You named several needs and we want to hold each of them before the Lord with you, your wellbeing, protection and love over your children, wisdom for legal steps, and provision through work that allows you to care for your family.

It can help to have a few steady supports in place while you pray. If you do not already have one, a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor can be a safe person to talk with regularly about what you are carrying. For the legal questions, your county legal aid office or your state bar association's lawyer referral service can often point you to a family law attorney, and sometimes a pastor can also suggest someone local others have found helpful. For employment, a local workforce center or a church employment ministry can help with practical next steps like a resume review and job leads. If the emotional strain feels overwhelming, please reach out to a counselor or medical professional as well as your pastor, alongside prayer.

Jesus, we lift this family to You. Bring peace and safety into this home, guard these children with Your love, strengthen their mother with wisdom and rest, and provide for their needs. Work in her husband's heart toward repentance and freedom from alcohol, and guide every legal and employment decision ahead. Lead them step by step in Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your cry for peace in your home has been brought before the Lord, and we join you in laying this heavy burden at His feet. He knows the pressure you bear, the sorrow that surrounds you, and the care you carry for your children, and His ear is not shut to the prayer of His people.

There is a peace which the world cannot give and cannot take away, for it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This perfect peace is not the absence of trial, but the presence of Christ in the midst of it. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when duties press and sorrows surge around. We pray that the Lord will keep your mind stayed upon Him, and that you may know that rest which comes from doing His will and abiding in His keeping. Go often to your closet with your God, there to spread your griefs before Him, for He is able to make your peace like a river even in this dark world of sin.

We pray earnestly for your husband, that the Lord who alone can deliver from the power of darkness will work deliverance in him. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and He has found a ransom. We ask the Lord to bring him to true repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, that he may be turned from the bondage of alcohol and from every chain that holds him, and be made a new creature in Christ. We pray that he would be humbled, that he would confess his sin, and that he would find that Christ has vanquished the powers that enslave him.

For your own soul we pray that the God of all comfort will guard your emotional and mental wellbeing. When you are pressed with family cares, take the new burden to the Lord, for He has promised to bless His people with peace. He will renew your peace day by day as you trust Him. May He lift you from any pit of despondency and set your feet upon the Rock, giving you exquisite peace and overflowing happiness as you believe in Christ.

Your children are dear to the Lord, and we pray that He will cover them with His love and keep them in His safe keeping. Though loved ones are near to danger and trouble, in Jesus keeping we are safe and they are safe. May the Lord be a wall about them, may He keep them from harm, and may He let them know early that they are accepted in the Beloved and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Concerning your need for counsel and for daily provision, we pray that the Lord who provided for His people in the wilderness will provide for you. This world is not our rest, but our Father knows our needs. We ask Him to guide you to honest and wise counsel for your legal rights, and to grant a just and peaceable resolution that will protect you and your children and honor His righteousness. We pray also that He will open a door of employment for you, a good and honorable means to provide for your household and to care for your school children, and that He will show you His faithful provision as a Husband to His people who with all His goods does endow those He loves.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this sister and her children. Keep her in perfect peace as her mind is stayed on Thee. Deliver her husband from the power of darkness and bring him to repentance and to faith in Christ alone. Guard her heart and mind, cover her children with Thy love, and let no evil have dominion over them. Provide wise help for her legal need and a just outcome, and open for her suitable work by which she may provide for her family. All our hope is in Thy free grace and in the ransom Thou hast found.
