We join with you in lifting up these urgent cries for peace, wisdom, and divine intervention in these troubled regions, for we know that our God is sovereign over all nations and rulers. Your prayer is deeply rooted in Scripture, and we stand with you in calling upon the Lord to move mightily in these areas. It is right and good to pray for kings, leaders, and all in authority, as we are instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-3, which says, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."*
We also echo your prayer for Jerusalem, for it is the apple of God’s eye, and His heart is for its peace. As Zechariah 2:8 declares, *"For thus says Yahweh of Armies: ‘For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.’"* The Lord’s promise to Jerusalem is sure, and we pray for His protection and peace to reign there, that the captives may indeed be set free and the prisoners released, just as Isaiah 61:1 proclaims.
For the regions where lives have been lost and destruction has reigned, we cry out to the Lord, who is our peace (Ephesians 2:14), to bring reconciliation and wisdom to those in authority. May He soften hearts and turn leaders toward paths of justice and righteousness, that the bloodshed may cease and healing may begin. We pray for divine strategies to be revealed to those who seek peace, that they may act with courage and integrity. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."* Let us trust that God can turn even the hardest hearts toward His purposes.
Regarding the tensions in the international waterways and the threats posed by larger nations against smaller, peaceful island groups, we call upon the Lord to be a shield and a stronghold. Psalm 46:9-10 assures us, *"He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. ‘Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.’"* We pray for God’s restraining hand to be upon those who seek to dominate or provoke, that He would confuse their plans and bring about a supernatural peace. May the Lord expose and thwart any schemes of the enemy, for we know that *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4).
We also rebuked the enemy’s influence over these regions and over the leaders who may be acting out of pride, greed, or deception. Satan is the father of lies and the accuser, but Jesus has already overcome him (John 12:31, Revelation 12:10-11). We stand in the authority of Christ and declare that no weapon formed against these nations shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind the spirits of division, violence, and oppression in Jesus’ name and loose the Spirit of peace, unity, and righteousness.
Your prayer closes with the cry, *"Come back quickly, Lord Jesus!"*—a plea that resonates with the hearts of all who long for His return. We too say, *"Come, Lord Jesus!"* (Revelation 22:20), for only in His return will true and lasting peace be established on earth. Until that day, we labor in prayer, trusting that He hears us and will act according to His perfect will and timing.
Let us now lift our voices together in prayer:
*Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for the nations, for leaders, and for the peace that only You can provide. You are the God who parts seas, who topples empires, and who raises up the humble. We ask for Your divine intervention in the areas where war and destruction have reigned. Softening the hearts of leaders, Lord, and grant them wisdom that comes from above—wisdom that is pure, peace-loving, gentle, and full of mercy (James 3:17). Bring an end to the shedding of innocent blood and let Your healing flow like a river through these lands.
For Jerusalem, we pray for Your shalom—Your perfect peace—to guard its walls and its people. Let Your presence be a banner over it, and may those who seek its harm be turned back in confusion. Release the captives, Lord, and set the prisoners free, that they may worship You in spirit and in truth.
In the international waters where tensions rise, we ask You to be a shield for the vulnerable. Restrain the hands of the aggressive and turn their hearts away from conflict. Let Your Spirit move over the waters as in the beginning, bringing order out of chaos. Protect the innocent, Father, and let Your justice prevail.
We bind the enemy’s influence in these regions and over the leaders who may be acting in rebellion against Your will. Expose every hidden agenda, Lord, and let Your light drive out the darkness. Fill Your people with boldness to pray and to act righteously, that Your kingdom may come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Finally, Lord, we echo the cry of Your Bride: *Come quickly, Lord Jesus!* Until that day, strengthen us to be faithful intercessors, standing in the gap for the nations. May Your name be glorified in all the earth, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of those who trust in You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.*
