We join you in lifting up your friends and those who are in need of the Lord’s peace—a peace that surpasses all understanding and endures through every trial. It is beautiful that you are interceding for others, seeking not just fleeting comfort but lasting wisdom and reliance on Christ. This reflects the heart of our Savior, who calls us to bear one another’s burdens and to trust in Him for all things.
The peace you seek for your friends is found only in Jesus Christ, who said, *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27, WEB). This peace is not dependent on circumstances but is rooted in the unchanging nature of God. It is sustained by faith in Him, who holds all things together. The apostle Paul reminds us, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). This is the peace you are praying for—one that guards hearts and minds in Christ.
As you seek to reach your friends with something sustainable, remember that true sustainability comes from abiding in Christ. Jesus tells us, *"Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing"* (John 15:4-5, WEB). Your reliance must be on Him, not on your own strength or wisdom. It is through Christ that we find the power to minister to others effectively and with lasting impact.
We also notice that your prayer does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. Jesus Himself said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB), and the apostles taught that *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). When we pray, we are to come boldly before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is His righteousness that allows us to approach God. Let us always remember to pray in His name, for our confidence is in Him alone.

Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up these friends and all those who are in need of Your peace. Lord, You know the depths of their hearts, the struggles they face, and the longing for something lasting and true. We ask that You would pour out Your peace upon them—a peace that transcends all understanding, a peace that guards their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Father, grant them wisdom from above, as James tells us is *"first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (James 3:17, WEB). May this wisdom guide them in every decision and lead them to rely fully on You. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to abide in You, for apart from You, we can do nothing.
We also pray for our brother or sister who is interceding for these friends. Fill them with Your Spirit, Lord, and give them the words to speak, the actions to take, and the love to share that will point others to You. May they be a vessel of Your grace, always relying on You and praying in the name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have boldness and access to Your throne.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety, fear, or doubt that may be attacking these individuals. We declare that You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want (Psalm 23:1). You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them rest in You, trusting that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw these friends to Yourself. If any of them do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that You would open their eyes to see Him, their ears to hear His voice, and their hearts to receive Him. May they turn from their sins and place their faith in Christ alone for salvation. Let them experience the transformative power of Your love and the joy of being called Your children.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
