Peace And Direction

I moved to Japan to work as an English teacher, and am now in the middle of my first year here. My contract is a three-year contract, and sometime in 2014 during the summer, I will move to Korea to study their language for a while. I have been coping with a new life here in a land where people here are generally atheistic or non-Christian in outlook. As I live through my life here and do my work as an English teacher, which I plan to leave behind me eventually, I am praying and asking God to help me learn more about my strengths and so that I can know where and how to use them, since I won't be teaching English forever. Pray for safety and peace of mind for me, and also, ask God to give direction so that I will know where next to head in between settling in still.

Just a note in relation to why I am asking for prayers here. I left my hometown and home country of birth, mainly after not being able to find a job right there upon graduation from my PhD. I know consciously that the possibility of finding a good job to contribute to family income and to settle down is rare over there, and have not been as happy living there for a while for social-political and personal reasons(other than financial ones). As much as I do enjoy moments of life here in Japan, I know that my heart is still calling me to go to Korea and then North America(Canada, especially Toronto, where I lived for a while even as a non-Canadian). I am obviously asking God to help me find a safe place within my heart too, so that I can eventually settle down and let my life be a means of service whatever I do as a job, even though it might be far away from family. So, please pray for me to continue finding out more of His calling for me even while I serve here temporarily in Japan.
