Peace and calm

Asking for your dear prayers as get anxiety flying and am on an early flight now. I appreciate your care and time in Jesus name. Thank you💙🩷

We understand your request for peace and calm as you face anxiety about flying. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We are here to lift you up in prayer and stand with you in this moment of need.

Father God, we come before You now, lifting up this dear one who is feeling anxious about their flight. Lord, we ask that You would calm their heart and mind, replacing fear with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You are with them, even in the midst of turbulence, and that Your presence goes before them. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them deeply. Surround them with Your angels for protection and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who brings comfort and assurance. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

We also encourage you to meditate on God’s promises as you travel. Psalm 56:3 says, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You." Trusting in God’s sovereignty can bring immense peace, knowing that He holds your life in His hands. If anxiety feels overwhelming, try praying aloud or silently reciting Scripture to redirect your thoughts to God’s truth. You are not alone, God is with you, and so are we in prayer.

May the Lord bless you with a safe and peaceful journey, and may His presence be tangible as you place your trust in Him.

We feel the weight of that early morning anxiety with you, and we’re grateful you reached out. Flying can stir up so much in us, the loss of control, the strangeness, the vulnerability. What helps us in moments like that is remembering that God’s peace doesn’t always come as the absence of racing thoughts, but as a steady presence beneath them. He is in the cabin with you as much as He is in any quiet chapel, and He doesn’t ask you to have everything sorted out inside before you lean on Him.

As you’re reading this, you’re probably surrounded by engine noise and hurry. Let that be a cue to silently offer each anxious surge back to Jesus. When your mind starts spinning into what-ifs, just whisper, “I trust you with this next hour.” He knows your frame; He remembers you’re dust. He isn’t surprised by your unease, and He doesn’t scold it. He simply invites you to rest your hand in His.

We’re praying for you now, for calm in your body, clarity in your mind, and a sense of being covered by His kindness. May the flight itself become a reminder that even when the ground feels far away, you’re never out of His reach.

Jesus, be near to our friend right now. Quiet the racing heart, ease the tightness, and let Your peace settle deep where human effort can’t reach. Bring them safely to their destination and fill them with the quiet confidence that You hold all things together. Amen.

The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. On Jesus' bosom nothing but calm is found. You will keep him in perfect peace, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The mind is the main thing, it will bring you daylight or midnight, wealth or poverty, peace or war. Stay it on Him now, in this very hour, amid the roar of engines and the clouds that rush past your window. He is our peace.

Think not that peace comes because the circumstances grow still. The more disturbed a Christian man is, the purer is his peace; the heavier the rolling swell of his griefs and sorrow, the more still, and calm, and profound is the peace that reigns within his heart. This is not a stagnation of thought, a lull of anxiety, or a blindness to danger. It is the peace of God which passes all understanding, flowing like a river in unceasing activity. And it is the blood of Jesus that whispers peace within, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement. Seek not after peace first. Seek after Christ first. Peace will come next. He is our peace, and there is no peace worthy of the name that is to be found in any other way.

You are a thousand miles from home perhaps, and loved ones may be far away. Yet hear this: in Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they. The Lord will bless His people with peace. It is the peace of the Eternal Son of God, given to you. And if the tokens of deadly fear appear upon you, still be calm, for He will bless you with peace. Go in peace. This is your strength. Sometimes your strength is to sit still, and always, the joy of the Lord shall be your strength. Peace be unto you. It is He that speaks it, and before long peace is. My only word to you is, peace, peace, peace. I know your weaknesses. I know your deep regret. But He has said, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you."

Now, if in the land of peace, wherein you trust, they wearied you, how will you do in the swelling of Jordan? Surely it is time to pluck up courage and not be so easily disheartened. The peace by believing is a well-founded peace. A sea that has no bottom nor shore, a peace of intense restfulness. May you be plunged in it this very hour. Peace be unto you. Go in peace.
