We come before the Lord with this request, lifting up the need for fair and just payment for labor, as the Scriptures remind us in **1 Timothy 5:18**, *"For the Scripture says, 'You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain,' and, 'The laborer is worthy of his wages.'"*
It is a serious matter when employers withhold wages, for the Lord Himself commands fairness and integrity in all dealings. **James 5:4** warns, *"Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies."* We must trust that God hears the cries of those who have been wronged, and He will act in His perfect justice.
At the same time, we encourage patience and trust in the Lord’s timing, for **Proverbs 16:33** tells us, *"The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from Yahweh."* If this delay is due to financial hardship on the employer’s part, we pray for God’s provision for them as well, that they may fulfill their obligations. But if it is out of greed or neglect, we ask the Lord to convict their hearts and move them to do what is right.
Let us also remember that our ultimate trust is not in man but in the Lord, who supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory. **Philippians 4:19** assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."*
We pray in the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If faith in Him is not already the foundation of this request, we urge a turning to Christ, for **Acts 4:12** declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."*
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we lift up this situation to You, asking for justice and fairness in the payment of wages. You are a God who sees the oppression of Your people and acts on their behalf. We pray that You would move in the heart of this employer, whether through conviction, provision, or consequence, to ensure that these workers—including the son of Your servant—are paid what is rightfully theirs. Give them patience and strength as they wait, and remind them that You are their Provider.
If there is any sin or bitterness in their hearts toward this employer, we ask that You would cleanse them and fill them with Your peace. Let this trial draw them closer to You, trusting in Your perfect timing and justice. We also pray for the employer, that if they are struggling, You would provide for them abundantly so they may do what is right. But if they are acting out of selfishness, we ask that You would reprove them and turn their hearts to repentance.
Lord, we place this entire matter in Your hands, knowing that You are just and faithful. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. We pray all these things in the powerful name of **Jesus Christ**, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
