Patience and understanding

Disciple of Prayer
Thank you Jesus my saviour to all those who prayed for us. My husband's father is still with us, the anxiety is debilitating. My husband is working offshore whilst this is happening. It's a new contract and if he leaves the vessel now he may only be able to get back to work on the next project which is next year. He is our sole provider. Please pray with me that the Lord guides him in the right firecythriugh this very hard time. My father in law had had the carers call the ambuly4 times already known as near death calls. The Dr had started the morphine intro and putting him in oxygen. Please pray with me that we all can understand God's will. For me I am praying it will all end. There is no recovery for my father in law and the pain he is going through must be immense not to mention the emotional roller coaster his family and my husband's siblings are going through.

It's also my daughter's 18th birthday in wed and I want to make sure she feels loved and celebrated.

Please once again I ask you to pray with me in Jesus name. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord, knowing that He is the God of all comfort and strength in our weakness. Your heart is weighed down with grief, anxiety, and the strain of watching your father-in-law suffer, while also carrying the weight of your husband’s difficult decision and the emotional toll on your family. Yet even in this valley, we see your faith shining through as you turn to Jesus, your Savior, and acknowledge His sovereignty. This is a testament to the hope we have in Christ, who has conquered death and promises to walk with us through every trial.

The pain of watching a loved one suffer is profound, and the uncertainty of what each day may bring can feel overwhelming. But we are reminded in **2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (WEB)**, *"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."* He sees your tears, hears your cries, and is near to the brokenhearted. Your father-in-law’s suffering is not hidden from Him, and neither is the anguish of your family. We pray that the Lord will grant him mercy, whether through healing or a peaceful transition into eternity. If it is God’s will to call him home, may it be swift and without pain, and may your family find solace in the promise of **Revelation 21:4 (WEB)**, where *"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away."*

We also lift up your husband, who is torn between his duty as a provider and his desire to be present with his family during this time. The pressure of his new contract and the fear of financial instability are real, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. **Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB)** reassures us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* We pray that the Lord will grant your husband wisdom and peace in his decision, knowing that God is able to provide in ways we cannot foresee. May he find strength in **Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)**, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

As you prepare to celebrate your daughter’s 18th birthday, we pray that the Lord will fill this day with His joy and love, even amidst the sorrow. May she feel cherished and celebrated, and may this milestone be a reminder of God’s faithfulness in her life. **Psalm 118:24 (WEB)** declares, *"This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!"* Even in difficult seasons, we can find moments of gratitude and joy, knowing that our hope is not in our circumstances but in the Lord.

Finally, we want to gently remind you of the power of praying *in Jesus’ name*. You closed your prayer with this beautiful acknowledgment, and it is vital to remember that our access to the Father is through Christ alone. **John 14:6 (WEB)** tells us, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And in **John 16:23-24 (WEB)**, Jesus assures us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is through Jesus that we find strength, comfort, and the assurance that our prayers are heard.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this family in their time of deep sorrow and uncertainty. Lord, You are the God who sees, who knows the pain of each member of this family, and who holds the days of our lives in Your hands. We ask for Your mercy and comfort to surround them, especially as they watch their father and father-in-law suffer. Grant him peace, Lord, whether through healing or a gentle transition into Your presence. May his family find rest in knowing that You are near, and that nothing can separate them from Your love.

We pray for this husband, who is carrying the weight of provision and the ache of being away from his family. Father, grant him wisdom as he navigates this difficult decision. Remind him that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and that You are able to sustain them in ways they cannot imagine. Give him peace that surpasses understanding, and strengthen him for each day.

Lord, we lift up this wife and mother, who is pouring out her heart before You. Comfort her in her grief, and help her to cast her anxieties upon You, for You care for her. As she celebrates her daughter’s birthday, fill their home with Your joy and love. May this day be a bright spot in a difficult season, a reminder of Your goodness and faithfulness.

We thank You, Jesus, that we can come boldly before the throne of grace in Your name. You are our intercessor, our Savior, and our hope. May this family feel Your presence tangibly in these days, and may they find rest in You alone. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We pray for your father-in-law, that God would grant him peace, whether through healing or a gentle transition into His presence. We ask that your family would find solace in the promise of God's unfailing love.

We're also praying for your husband, that God would give him wisdom as he navigates this tough decision. We remind him, and you, that God is Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. We ask for peace that surpasses understanding to fill him, and strength for each day.

And for you, dear one, we pray for comfort in your grief. We ask that you would feel God's presence tangibly in these days, and find rest in Him alone. May this day be a bright spot in this difficult season, a reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness.

We're holding onto the promise of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We trust that God is at work, even when we can't see it. We're here, praying with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting your family before the Lord in these heavy days. Our hearts have continued to intercede for you, your husband, your father-in-law, and your daughter as you walk through this valley of deep uncertainty and emotional strain. The weight of caring for a loved one in their final days while also carrying the burden of your husband’s impossible decision is something no family should have to bear alone—and we are so grateful you invited us to stand with you in prayer.

We know the Lord hears the cries of His children, and we trust He is walking beside you even now, offering comfort in ways seen and unseen. The anxiety you described is real, and the toll of watching someone suffer while also trying to celebrate your daughter’s milestone must feel overwhelming. Yet we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted, who collects every tear, and who promises to carry what we cannot. We pray He has given you moments of peace amid the storm—whether through the quiet assurance of His presence, the support of those around you, or even small mercies like strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

As you mentioned your daughter’s 18th birthday, we’ve been praying specifically that she would feel deeply loved and cherished in the midst of this difficult season. May the Lord surround her with joy, remind her of His faithfulness, and give you all the grace to create meaningful memories together, even as your family navigates grief.

If the Lord has answered in ways you can see—whether through your father-in-law’s peaceful passing, your husband’s clarity in decision-making, or unexpected provisions—we would love to rejoice with you in a praise report. If this trial continues and the burden still feels heavy, please don’t hesitate to share an update so we can keep praying with you, believing for God’s perfect will and timing in all things.

We are also lifting you up for endurance, for wisdom to understand God’s heart in this, and for the supernatural peace that passes all understanding. He is not distant in your suffering; He is close, and He will see you through.

May you feel His arms holding you tight as you seek Him through Jesus, our Savior and Hope. We are still here, still praying. In Jesus’ name.
