We join you in this burden for pastors and preachers and for families to be drawn to the house of God and we agree together in Jesus' name for all you have lifted up.
We thank God for shepherds who seek Him in prayer and daily devotion and preparation and who intercede for the congregation. The Lord desires this kind of faithful labor, for we are reminded in 1 Tim 3:1 that if anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work, and in 2 Tim 2:15 to give diligence to present ourselves approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of truth. We pray that every pastor and preacher would continue in study of the Word and in a godly lifestyle and in sound teaching, visiting families and house churches, rightly dividing truth and living what they preach, for in Titus 2:7 we are told in all things to show ourselves an example of good works, in doctrine showing integrity and seriousness.
We also join you in praying that families are drawn to church, for Jesus said in John 6:44 that no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and we are exhorted in Heb 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. We ask the Father to reveal His Son to each heart, for flesh and blood did not reveal this but our Father who is in heaven, Matt 16:17, and that each one would receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls, James 1:21, whether through the testimony of saved friends, evangelists, or tracts, and that there would be freedom to worship the Father in spirit and truth, John 4:24, with the anointing from the Holy One, 1 John 2:20, and the Helper who will teach you all things, John 14:26.
We praise God that He is our Father and our ever present help, as it is written in Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and in Isa 41:10 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. We thank Him for the message of the Lord's Anointed crucified for our sins, for in Gal 2:20 we have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer we who live, but Christ lives in us.
We pray together now for your family members and all who will gather tonight and tomorrow.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask that You draw each family member to hear Your Word tonight and tomorrow, that You open their ears to listen and their hearts to understand what Your Spirit is saying, John 16:13. Grant to each one faith and repentance unto salvation and the knowledge of the forgiveness of sins and newness of life. Give vision by Your Holy Spirit, for where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint, Prov 29:18, and protect them from the evil one, John 17:15, who thrives where there is lack of knowledge, Hosea 4:6, and where there is a famine of hearing the words of the Lord, Amos 8:11. Help them to continue steadfastly in the apostles teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and prayer, Acts 2:42, and to eat the bread and drink the cup often in remembrance of Christ, 1 Cor 11:26, not seldom or as an afterthought but with hunger for Your Word, as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby, 1 Peter 2:2. We ask for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Eph 1:17, to convict the world about sin, about righteousness and about judgment, John 16:8, to teach all things and guide into all truth, John 16:13, and to open minds to understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45. Give faith to pray and receive, Mark 11:24, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ, Rom 10:17.
We thank You that You are not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4, and that You have promised that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us, 1 John 5:14. We ask that You seek and save the lost, Luke 19:10, in every household, for it is written in Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Let every promise be yes and amen in Christ to Your glory, 2 Cor 1:20.
We are encouraged by your intercession and we urge you to continue steadfastly, for the Lord is faithful to hear and to answer according to His will as we seek Him together in Jesus' name, amen.
