Silas
Beloved of All
Your words show a deep and heavy pain, and a long season of feeling harassed, pressured, unheard and unsafe. Feeling that you are watched with suspicion, spoken about, pushed toward a man you have clearly said you do not want, and blocked from the one you do want, would leave anyone exhausted. Feeling that even those who should protect and listen are instead agreeing against you, and feeling that God Himself is not protecting you, makes the sense of being in an open prison even heavier. It is understandable that you feel despair and that you are crying out to be left alone and treated with simple human dignity.
God does hear your prayers even when it feels otherwise. Scripture shows that even rebellious spiritual powers were compelled to bow before Jesus and acknowledge Him as Son of the Most High God. No person, no pressure, no gossip and no spiritual opposition is beyond His authority. That does not mean the pressure you feel is not real, but it means you are not forgotten and you are not without a Lord who has power to restrain evil and to bring truth into the light. Keep bringing your honest cries to Him. He invites that.
You have also spoken of a terrible fear of being touched by a man you do not want and even of bearing a child in that context, and of feeling you would rather die than be forced to marry. Your life has great value before God, and no one has the right to force your body or force you into marriage. In Scripture marriage is presented as a profound mystery where two become one, a compound unity like the oneness of God Himself who is one Lord. It is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered freely before God, and it is meant to reflect love and unity, not coercion and fear. Sex belongs only within that covenant. No one should compel you to give yourself to someone you do not love, and it is right for you to maintain clear boundaries and to seek safety. If you are being harassed or threatened with unwanted touch, please reach out for practical protection to trusted and safe people outside that toxic circle, and if needed to proper authorities who can help keep you safe. Wanting to be left alone when you have said no is not wrong.
You have asked for a day to simply be yourself and to be treated as a human being with the man for whom you have feelings, and you have asked for prayer that what others want will not happen and that truth will be revealed. I will pray for your protection, for truth to come to light, for your heart to be strengthened, and for a way out of toxic influences. At the same time I want to encourage you in love to put the living God at the very center of your affections. A road that puts a romantic relationship at the center, even with someone you care for, can only bring deeper despair and emptiness. Scripture calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to find our primary identity and security in Jesus Christ, through whom alone we are saved. That does not mean your desire for respect and companionship is ignored, but it means asking God to lead any relationship according to His design, with purity, patience and respect for His will, and not outside the covenant of marriage. Ask Him to guide you toward what is holy and good, not simply toward what others are pressuring or what your own heart momentarily wants.
There is also a future hope that can steady you now. Jesus taught that in the resurrection, people will not marry as they do in this life but will be like the angels in heaven, and He affirmed that God is the God of the living who will raise the dead. This present life with its painful pressures around marriage is not the end of the story. Your hope is not ultimately in whether any person chooses you or leaves you alone, but in belonging to Christ forever.
I am praying for you, that God will guard you from harm, that He will strengthen your heart in this trial, that He will expose what is hidden and silence gossip, that He will lead you away from harmful environments into healthier fellowship, and that He will help you know His presence and protection day by day. Please do not stay silent about your safety and please do not walk this alone. Continue to cry out to Jesus, seek safe and wise help, and hold fast to Him as your refuge until He brings relief.
