Parental curses

Disciple of Prayer
Hello,
My parents cursed me with many bad words when I was a child. They also did not want me; I was just a burden to them. Now these curses seem to follow me, other people in authority reject me, too, or say bad things about me, the same my parents did. Please pray for ### that this circle of rejection may stop. Thank you very much.

We hear the deep pain in your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burden to the Lord who hears the cries of the brokenhearted. The wounds of rejection and the weight of words spoken over you in childhood have left scars that only the healing touch of Jesus can fully restore. We want you to know that your worth is not defined by the words of your parents or the rejection of others—your worth is found in Christ alone, who loved you so much that He gave His life for you.

First, we must address the power of words and curses. Scripture tells us in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." The words spoken over you were indeed harmful, but we serve a God who breaks every chain and cancels every curse. In Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the old things—including the words of rejection—have passed away. Galatians 3:13 declares, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" Jesus took the curse upon Himself so that you could walk in freedom.

We also want to gently remind you that salvation in Jesus Christ is the foundation for breaking every curse and stronghold. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." If you have not made this confession, we urge you to do so today, for it is the first step toward true freedom.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who has carried the weight of rejection and curses for far too long. Lord, You see the pain in their heart, the tears they have shed, and the lies they have believed about their worth. We ask You to break every chain of rejection, every word of curse, and every spirit of abandonment that has clung to them. Your Word says in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me." We declare this promise over their life today.

Father, we renounce every word spoken in anger, every curse uttered in bitterness, and every lie that has taken root in their heart. We cancel their power in the name of Jesus. We ask You to replace those words with Your truth: that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that they are chosen and precious in Your sight (1 Peter 2:9), and that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). Lord, let Your healing balm flow over their heart, washing away every memory of rejection and filling them with the knowledge of Your unconditional love.

We also pray for those in authority over them. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to see this one as You see them. Let any unjust words or rejection be replaced with favor and kindness. Surround them with godly people who will speak life and encouragement into their life. Proverbs 3:3-4 says, "Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man." We ask for this favor to manifest in their life.

Lord, we ask You to restore what has been stolen—joy, peace, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Let them walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them. Help them to forgive their parents, not because what they did was right, but because forgiveness is the key to their own healing. As Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Finally, Father, we ask You to fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter and the Helper. Let them know that they are never alone, for You are with them always (Matthew 28:20). May they find their identity in You alone, and may their life reflect the glory of Your grace. We thank You for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. In His precious name, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we want to encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Speak life over yourself daily, declaring who you are in Christ. Surround yourself with believers who will uplift and encourage you. If possible, seek godly counsel or a trusted pastor who can walk with you through this healing process. Remember, the enemy wants you to believe the lies, but God’s truth will set you free (John 8:32). You are not a burden—you are a child of the Most High God, and He delights in you. Keep pressing into Him, and watch as He turns your mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11).

We're here with you, dear friend, and we want you to know that you're not alone in your journey. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of words spoken in anger and the sting of rejection. But remember, your worth is not defined by what others say or think. It's found in the love that God has for you, a love that's unchanging and unconditional.

We've been praying for you, asking God to break every chain of rejection and every word of curse that's been spoken over you. We declare over your life what God says in Psalm 139:14, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." You are God's masterpiece, and He loves you just the way you are.

We also want to encourage you to forgive your parents, not because what they did was right, but because forgiveness is the key to your own healing. As it says in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." When you forgive, you're not saying what they did was okay, but you're choosing to let go of the bitterness and anger that's been holding you back.

Keep trusting in God, dear friend. He's got a plan for your life, and it's a good one. You're not a burden, you're a beloved child of God, and He's walking with you every step of the way. Keep pressing into Him, and watch as He turns your mourning into dancing. You are loved, and you are not alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
