Beloved of All
My family returned home recently, and my mum ### wants to go out of town again; but they are parcels coming, I hope her parcel arrives after mine does. She ordered shoes. I ordered seasonal food that maybe temperature sensitive. We live in ###. She can be very controlling and threatening things. She has online jobs, that she needs my help with which doesn’t help matters. She wants to leave so soon, as my dad ### may have an appointment; which I hope it is later than she thinks it will be. I hope my dad’s appointment is on or after December ###th as there is another appointment around that time. Many things backfired, just hope to get my parcel before leaving town.

Lions Lacking — But the Children Satisfied
Those who seek God find every true need met, no matter their circumstances.
We hear your concern about the timing of these parcels and the tension at home, and we join you in bringing this before the Lord.

We understand the worry about temperature sensitive food being left outside and the desire for your parcel to arrive before your mum's shoes do, especially while you are navigating travel plans and your dad's upcoming appointment. It is easy for these small logistical worries to become a source of greater stress in the family, particularly when you feel your mum can be controlling and threatening and when you are being asked to help with her online jobs. We want to encourage you to cast this anxiety on the Lord and to seek peace in your household.

The word tells us, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We are also reminded, Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 God cares about even the practical details like parcels and appointments, and He also cares deeply about the relationships in your home.

Scripture calls children to honor their parents, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 and Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1 At the same time, parents are called to lead with gentleness and not provoke their children, Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged. Colossians 3:21 and Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32 Controlling speech and threats do not reflect the love and patience God desires in a family. If possible, we encourage you to speak with your mum with a gentle and respectful tone when you share your concern about the parcels, perhaps suggesting a practical solution together such as asking a trusted neighbor to collect them, requesting a hold at the post office, or adjusting the delivery instructions, so that neither parcel is left vulnerable in the heat. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1 Pursuing peace is part of honoring God in the home, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, because if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one and their family to You. Lord, You know the concern about these parcels, the seasonal food that is sensitive to the heat and the shoes that are coming, and the timing of travel and appointments. We ask for Your provision and protection over these deliveries, that they would arrive safely and at the right time, before any travel needs to happen, and that nothing would be spoiled or lost. We pray for wisdom for this family in planning their trip out of town and for Your hand over the dad's appointment, that it would be scheduled according to Your perfect timing and that You would grant health and peace as they wait. Lord, we ask You to bring peace into this home. Soften any controlling or threatening words and help both parent and child to speak to one another with kindness, patience and respect. Help our dear one to honor their mum and dad even in difficult moments, and help their mum to lead with gentleness and love. Give them a way to work together regarding the online jobs and household needs without strife. Provide a practical solution for the parcels so that anxiety is eased. Fill this home with Your peace that surpasses understanding and help them to trust You with the things that have backfired in the past, knowing that You work all things for good for those who love You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep committing these details to the Lord in prayer each day and to communicate openly and respectfully with your mum about the delivery timing. Trust that God sees your situation, cares for your family, and will provide for your needs as you seek Him first.

We can hear how much pressure you are carrying with these travel plans and the timing of the parcels. Waiting on something temperature sensitive while also trying to keep peace at home and help your mum with her online work would leave anyone feeling on edge, especially when you feel you have little control over the dates.

It makes sense you are hoping your food parcel arrives first and that your dad's appointment falls later so there is more breathing room. One small thing that might ease some of the worry is to get as much clear information as you can. If you have tracking numbers, checking them daily and looking at the delivery options like holding at a pickup point or leaving instructions for a safe cool place can sometimes give you a little more peace. It may also help to have a brief, calm check in with your mum and dad about the expected dates, so you are not left guessing, and to ask a trusted neighbor or family member if they could receive the parcel if you do have to be away.

We are holding you and your family in prayer in this stretch.

Father, we bring this family to You and ask for Your peace over this home, for wisdom in conversations and timing, and for Your care over the appointments and the parcels. Guide and steady our friend in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your concern about these parcels and the unsettled plans within your home has been laid before the Lord, and I have taken it to the throne of grace with you.

You speak of many things pressing at once, a mother's hasty purpose to go out of town, a father's appointment, duties that require your help, and the care lest that which is temperature sensitive should spoil. It is no wonder that anxiety arises, yet I would remind you of what has been proven true, that the very anxiety which comes through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. The mind is the main thing, it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war, as it is stayed upon God or left to wander among its own fears.

There is a peace which God gives that is not the mere lull of anxiety or blindness to danger, but a filling peace, a well founded peace, a peace that flows like a river in unceasing activity. The prophet has said, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. And our Lord Himself has left this legacy to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. This is peace from lips that cannot lie, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement. It is present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even when duties press and sorrows surge round, even with loved ones far away or purposes uncertain.

Therefore bear your sorrow with Him. When family cares multiply, take the new burden to the Lord, for He will bless His people with peace. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Seek Christ first, and peace will come next, not as a mere peace with your own conscience, but peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is our peace.

You have also heard of the patience of Job, the patience of a man greatly tried, imperfect and full of infirmity, yet upheld. Job could not have exhibited patience if he had not endured trial. Your present trial, though small in the eyes of others, is appointed to teach that same patience, that you may become steadfast under personal affliction and under the strain of a controlling spirit in the home. Honour your mother and father as the Lord commands, and answer what is threatening with gentleness and truth, seeking wisdom from above which is pure and peaceable. If you are pressed to help with labours that are not your own, seek a quiet and faithful way to serve as you are able, and to set needful bounds without provoking wrath.

I have prayed for you, that the Lord in His providence would order the timing of these parcels and these journeys according to His wisdom, that what is perishable may be preserved, that your father's appointment may fall at a season most helpful for him, and that your going out and coming in may be under the Lord's keeping. Above all I have prayed that you may know that peace which passes all understanding, that your heart may be kept stayed upon Christ, and that whatever earthly struggles soon shall cease, you may already taste Heaven's perfect peace within.

May the God of peace Himself keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and make you patient in waiting, calm in trusting, and faithful in every duty He appoints.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
