Parayer for the Persecuted and the Suffering

Yaornor

Disciple of Prayer
God of Mercy and Light, I come before You with a heavy heart. I bring all who are persecuted, harmed, tortured, or abandoned — those hidden in darkness and suffering with no help. Pour Your comfort over them. Surround them with protection, provide help through people and agencies, and lift their burdens. Give them strength to endure, hope to keep going, and the peace that surpasses understanding.

Lord, for those who have sinned but are searching for You, open a way of grace. Let them find repentance, healing, and a new start. May Your compassion reach even the hearts of those who have caused pain.

I ask You now for myself. Like one who has been crushed and cast out, I pray that You send Your angels to guard me, to bring food and shelter if it is Your will, and to place a hedge of protection around my life. If it is Your will to end the attacks, move miraculously to stop them. If that is not Your will, grant me the endurance not to lose my mind, the clarity not to forget You, and the courage to hold fast to faith. Keep my heart from bitterness and my spirit from despair.

Father, tame the hands of tormentors: either turn them to repentance or restrain them so they cannot harm others. Let justice and mercy have their course, and let truth come to light.

I place all of this into Your loving hands, trusting that You see, You hear, and You are our refuge. Strengthen every soul who cries out this day.

In Jesus name we pray. Amen

We join with you in lifting up the persecuted, the suffering, and the brokenhearted before the throne of grace, knowing that our Lord is near to those who call upon Him in truth. Your prayer echoes the heart of God, who is "a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9, WEB). We stand with you in intercession, for the Scriptures remind us that "the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:15, WEB). There is power in the name of Jesus, and we are grateful you have invoked His holy name, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB). It is by His stripes that we are healed, and in His name that every knee shall bow (Philippians 2:10, WEB).

The cries of the persecuted do not go unheard. Our Lord collects their tears in His bottle (Psalm 56:8, WEB), and He has promised that "the one who endures to the end, the same will be saved" (Matthew 24:13, WEB). We pray for our brothers and sisters who are hidden in darkness, that the Lord would be their light and their salvation (Psalm 27:1, WEB). May He send forth His angels to encamp around them (Psalm 34:7, WEB) and provide for their needs through His people, just as He fed Elijah by the brook Cherith (1 Kings 17:4, WEB). We ask that He would grant them supernatural endurance, that they may say with Paul, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13, WEB). For those who have been driven from their homes, may the Lord be their dwelling place (Psalm 90:1, WEB), and for those who are tortured in body or spirit, may they know the comfort of the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26, WEB).

We also lift up those who persecute the righteous, asking that the Lord would either restrain their hands from evil or turn their hearts to repentance. As Stephen prayed even while being stoned, "Lord, don’t hold this sin against them" (Acts 7:60, WEB), so we ask that You would soften the hearts of the wicked, that they may turn from their sins and find mercy. Let them encounter the truth of Your Word, which is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12, WEB), and be convicted of their need for a Savior. May they, like Saul of Tarsus, be transformed by the power of the gospel and become vessels of honor in Your hands (Acts 9:1-19, WEB).

For you, dear sibling in Christ, who have poured out your heart like water before the Lord (Lamentations 2:19, WEB), we pray that the God of all comfort would surround you with His presence. You have asked for protection, provision, and deliverance, and we declare over you the promise that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). May He be your shield and your exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1, WEB). If it is His will to remove the attacks, we pray He would do so swiftly and miraculously, just as He delivered Peter from prison (Acts 12:6-11, WEB). If it is His will for you to walk through this season of trial, may He grant you the grace to say with Job, "Though he slay me, yet I will trust in him" (Job 13:15, WEB). Let Him renew your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31, WEB), and may your faith be refined like gold in the fire (1 Peter 1:7, WEB).

We rebuke the spirit of bitterness and despair that seeks to take root in your heart. The enemy desires to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10, WEB), but our Lord has come to give life abundantly. Cling to the promise that "the joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10, WEB), and let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB). Remember that our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17, WEB). Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2, WEB), and let His love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18, WEB).

Finally, we declare over you the words of the Lord: "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). May you rest in the assurance that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6, WEB), and that nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39, WEB).

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are a God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We ask that You would move mightily in the lives of the persecuted, the suffering, and our sibling in Christ who has cried out to You today. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in their lives, as it is in heaven. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We join you in lifting up the persecuted, the suffering, and those in need of grace. Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, carrying the burdens of our brothers and sisters around the world who are persecuted, harmed, or abandoned. Surround them with Your comfort, protect them, and provide for their needs. Give them strength to endure, hope to keep going, and the peace that surpasses understanding.

For those who have sinned but are searching for You, open a way of grace. Let them find repentance, healing, and a new start. May Your compassion reach even the hearts of those who have caused pain.

Father, we also lift up our own needs. Like one who has been crushed and cast out, we ask that You send Your angels to guard us, to bring food and shelter if it is Your will, and to place a hedge of protection around our lives. If it is Your will to end the attacks, move miraculously to stop them. If not, grant us endurance, clarity, and courage to hold fast to faith. Keep our hearts from bitterness and our spirits from despair.

Tame the hands of tormentors, either turning them to repentance or restraining them so they cannot harm others. Let justice and mercy have their course, and let truth come to light.

We place all this into Your loving hands, trusting that You see, You hear, and You are our refuge. Strengthen every soul that cries out today.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right Hand" (Isaiah 41:10)

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight".

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
