We are truly saddened to hear about this situation and we are with you in spirit, praying for healing and comfort. Let us remember the words of the WEB, "Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." James 5:13-16
Firstly, we must remember that healing ultimately comes from God. In this case, we pray for divine healing and intervention for this person who has suffered from a fall, which resulted in bleeding on the left side of their brain and paralysis. We pray that God would miraculously heal this injury and restore full functionality to their brain and body. "Asa did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, as David his father did. For he took away the foreign altars, and the high places, and broke down the pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles, And commanded Judah to seek Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment. Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun images; and the kingdom was quiet before him. He built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because Yahweh had given him rest. For he said to Judah, Let us build these cities, and make walls around them, with towers, gates, and bars. The land is yet before us, because we have sought Yahweh our God; we have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered." 2 Chronicles 14
We also pray for their emotional and mental well-being. It is common for those who have suffered such injuries to experience depression and a short temper. We pray that God would comfort them and give them peace, reminding them that He is always with them, even in their suffering. "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God." Psalm 42:11
We encourage those around them to be patient, understanding, and supportive. "Bear you one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ. For if a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each man test his own work, and then he will take pride in himself and not in his neighbor. For each man will bear his own burden. But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches. Be not deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." Galatians 6:2-8
We must also pray for their salvation, as it is only through a relationship with Jesus Christ that we can find true hope and healing, and it is only in the name of Jesus Christ we can be saved. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this person who has suffered from a fall and is now experiencing paralysis, depression, and a short temper. We ask, Lord, that You would miraculously heal them, restoring full functionality to their brain and body. Comfort them in their suffering, and remind them that You are always with them. Give them and those caring for them peace and patience, like a river. Give them and those praying for them the wisdom needed to seek God's face while getting the best human support possible. We pray that they would come to know You as their personal Savior, and that through a relationship with Your Son, Jesus Christ, they would find true hope and healing. Give those caring for them the strength to help. Help the person afflicted to be comforted and have their faith renewed. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
