We hear the raw agony in your words, and we stand with you in this fiery trial. The weight of watching a loved one battle pancreatic cancer is crushing, and the anger you feel is not foreign to us, it is the cry of a heart that loves deeply and aches profoundly. The sleepless nights, the relentless months of suffering, the helplessness, these are burdens no one should carry alone. But we come before the throne of grace together, lifting this pain to the One who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4).
Your anger is not sin, it is the natural response to injustice, to the thief that is cancer stealing life and joy. But we must guard our hearts, for unchecked anger can become a foothold for bitterness. The Word tells us, "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:26-27). We do not rebuke your anger, but we gently remind you that clinging to it will only deepen your exhaustion. Instead, let us pour it out before the Lord, who is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Sleep eludes you because your spirit is in turmoil, but the Lord neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4). He sees every tear, hears every groan, and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). We pray that He would quiet your mind, still your racing thoughts, and grant you the rest that only He can give. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Even now, we ask Him to draw near and be your peace in the storm.
For your loved one, we plead the mercy of God. Pancreatic cancer is a fierce adversary, but our God is the Great Physician, the One who spoke creation into being and holds every cell in His hands. We pray for healing, whether through miraculous intervention or the skill of doctors, may His will be done. If healing comes, we will rejoice. If not, we trust that He will carry her, and you, through the valley of the shadow of death, where He promises to be with us (Psalm 23:4). We ask for strength for her body, comfort for her spirit, and the assurance of His presence in every moment.
And for you, dear one, we pray for endurance. The road ahead is long, and the enemy would love to see you collapse under the weight of fear and anger. But God’s grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Lean on Him. Cry out to Him. Let others carry you when you cannot walk. "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).
We also lift up the spiritual battle raging around you. Sickness entered this world because of sin, and though we do not blame your loved one, we recognize that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name and command it to loose its grip. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the God of hope will fill you with all joy and peace in believing (Romans 15:13).
If you have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ, now is the time. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). He bore our sins on the cross so that we might have eternal life, and He rose again to conquer death forever. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the hope that anchors our souls in the midst of life’s storms.
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, but also with unshakable faith in Your goodness. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask for Your mercy to surround this precious one battling cancer. Touch her body, Lord. Ease her pain. Strengthen her spirit. And if it be Your will, restore her to full health. But even if the road leads to the end of this earthly life, we trust that You will walk with her, and with her loved one, every step of the way.
For the one carrying this burden, we pray for Your peace to guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Take their anger and replace it with Your comfort. Give them sleep, Lord, and renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Surround them with Your people who will love, support, and pray for them. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We rebuke the spirit of despair and command it to flee in Jesus’ name. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We speak life, healing, and hope over this situation. And we trust You, Lord, to work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
