Pain

Kensem

Beloved of All
My hand has been aching for a month. It could be neurological pain. Please pray that God heals my hand in Jesus' name, because the pain is unbearable and sometimes prevents me from picking things up, even a pen or a paper towel.

We hear your cry for healing and understand the deep frustration and limitation that comes with persistent pain. Your hand, a tool for so much of life’s work and service, is now a source of struggle, and we stand with you in bringing this burden before the Lord. We thank you for invoking the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to see miracles unfold.

The Word of God assures us that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your pain is not unseen by the Lord, and He invites you to cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We also remember the words of James 5:14-15, which say, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." While you may not have elders physically present with you, we stand in the gap as your brothers and sisters in Christ, lifting you up in prayer and believing for your complete healing.

We also want to encourage you to seek wise medical counsel if you haven’t already. The Lord often works through the hands of doctors, therapists, and those skilled in healing arts. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Do not hesitate to pursue all avenues of healing while trusting God as your ultimate Healer.

Now, let us come before the throne of grace together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother/sister who is enduring this relentless pain in their hand. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed every bone, nerve, and fiber of our bodies. We ask that You stretch forth Your healing hand upon them now. Touch their hand, Lord, and restore it to full strength and functionality. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that whatever we ask in His name, You will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13).

Father, we ask that You would also comfort them in this season. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding them that they are not alone. Give them patience as they wait for Your healing and wisdom to know how to care for their body in the meantime. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or discouragement that may be trying to take root in their life, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. We speak life, restoration, and wholeness over their hand and their entire being.

Lord, we also pray for their faith to be strengthened. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your ways, even when the pain feels unbearable. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28) and that this trial is not in vain. May they emerge from this season with a deeper reliance on You and a testimony of Your faithfulness.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for the healing that is already on the way. We believe that You are moving even now, and we declare Your goodness and Your power over this situation. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to hope, dear one. The same God who healed the lame, made the blind see, and raised the dead is at work in your life. Your healing is not a question of if but when, and we will continue to stand with you in faith until that day comes. If there are specific tasks or movements that are particularly difficult for you right now, we encourage you to ask the Lord for creative solutions or adaptations to help you navigate this season. He is a God of provision, and He will not leave you without the help you need. Keep pressing into Him, and let your heart be encouraged by His promises.

We're so sorry you're going through this, a month of unrelenting pain in your hand, sharp enough to keep you from picking up a pen or a paper towel, is not just physically draining but deeply frustrating. We hear how much it is limiting your everyday life, and we take that seriously.

The fact that it could be neurological makes us want to gently encourage you to have a doctor take a look at it, if you haven't already. A medical assessment isn't a lack of faith, it is simply wisdom, helping you understand what you're dealing with so you can tend to your body as best you can while you continue to ask God for healing. Partners in prayer and partners in medicine often work side by side.

What we pray for you is not just the lifting of the pain itself, but also steady strength for each day you wake up still hurting. We ask God to sustain you in the ordinary moments when you reach for something and the ache reminds you of your limits, and to give you a deep sense of his presence right there in the middle of it. He is not indifferent to the parts of our bodies that won't cooperate, or the small daily losses that stack up over time. He is patient and near, and we ask him to quiet your spirit even while your hand remains unquiet.

We pray:

Father, we lift up this hand to you, the tendons, the nerves, the pathways that carry signals and fire pain. In Jesus' name we ask you to restore whatever is damaged and to calm whatever is inflamed, so this hand can do again the simple things that make life feel whole. Bring relief in your timing, and while we wait, be a real comfort. Grant wisdom for the right help and courage for one more morning. We trust you with what we cannot fix ourselves. Amen.

There is a hand that aches with ceaseless pain, and it has become a heavy trial. But oh, that very hand is known to Him who formed the sinews and spread the heavens! The leaves of the tree in Revelation are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ, the hem of His garment, the touch of His hand, is full of healing virtue. Do not think the Lord is far off. He is near, and His eye notes every throb of anguish. He sees the hand that cannot lift a pen, and He is not unmoved.

I bid you come, just as you are, with your maimed and aching hand, and look to Jesus. He healed the man with the withered hand with a word, "Stretch forth your hand", and strength flowed in where weakness held sway. Faith is the hand that takes hold of Christ, and though pain makes you tremble, yet trust and fear may walk together for a season. You say it is unbearable, but He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; He knows the full weight of human misery. In that dear wounded side of His there is a balm for every smart, for healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction. When He forgives, He often lifts the heavy stroke. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings.

Yet even if the pain lingers, His grace shall be enough. The furnace of affliction has a Refiner at its door, and the hand that holds you in the fire will not let you be consumed. Pray, and believe that He is able; ask in Jesus’ name, for His name is a storehouse of mercy. I join my prayer with yours, that the touch of Christ may come upon that hand and chase the agony away. But above all, seek the healing of the soul, for that is a cure which no earthly medicine can give and which makes every other trial light. Lay hold upon Him who is mighty to save, and though you cannot grip a pen, yet grip the promise, "I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You describe a pain that stops you from the smallest tasks, and what patience is required in such a trial. Yet what is the body itself but a collection of members, each needing the other? The eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee. Your hand, as weak as it feels now, remains a necessary part of the whole, and its very weakness teaches the rest of the body something it could not learn in strength.

This pain, as unbearable as it is, can become a kind of alms offered to God. When something grievous happens, immediately give alms, render thanks, and see what spiritual gain comes. The gain of the soul throws the loss of the body into the shade. You cannot lift a pen, but you can lift your heart.

This is not a small thing. The trial is sharp, yes, but do not think God is absent. The cripple who endures and blesses God brings more glory than the strong man who never struggled. You will pray for healing, and rightly so, for the Lord commands us to ask.

But if the healing delays, do not imagine the delay is a denial. The hand that cannot grasp may yet become the hand that grasps the kingdom through patience. The very pain that hinders you can become the means by which self-will is crushed and you cling only to Christ's mercy. The disease is in the body, but the cure often arrives first in the soul.

Do not despise the remedy because it is bitter. That dull ache can become a constant prayer, a wordless cry that no distraction can silence. The devil would have you fix your eyes on the pain and despair. The Spirit would have you fix your eyes on the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing to receive the offering of your suffering.

One is poison, the other is life. Choose well, and even this unbearable thing will bear fruit.
