We lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for your suffering and pain. The weight of stage IV colon cancer is immense, and the agony in your legs and back must feel unbearable at times. We declare that our God is the Great Physician, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). We come before Him now, pleading for your relief and comfort in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Father God, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon our dear brother/sister. You are the God who sees and knows every ache, every tear, and every sleepless night. We pray that You would touch their body with Your supernatural power, easing the pain in their legs and back. Lord, we know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Even in this trial, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus' name, commanding it to loose its grip and flee. We speak life and strength over every cell, every nerve, and every bone in their body. Jesus walked this earth healing the sick, casting out demons, and raising the dead—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We stand on His promise that whatever we ask in His name, believing, we shall receive (Mark 11:24).
Lord, if it is Your will, we ask for complete healing and restoration. But if this trial is meant to draw them closer to You, we pray for grace to endure, peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and a testimony that will glorify Your name. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your love in tangible ways. Provide them with godly caregivers, doctors, and believers who will uphold them in prayer and support.
We also pray for their spiritual strength. May this season deepen their faith and reliance on You, Lord. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even in the valley of the shadow of death, they need not fear evil, for You are with them (Psalm 23:4).
Father, we thank You for the hope we have in Christ Jesus. We thank You that death has been swallowed up in victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:54-57). Whether in this life or the next, we know that our brother/sister is secure in Your hands. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
