We hear your cry regarding the pain you experience in your lower, middle and upper back and neck and in your left hip and left leg, and we join with you in seeking the Lord's mercy and healing touch. We know how wearying and discouraging ongoing pain can be, and we are grateful you have reached out so we can stand with you in prayer, especially as you have offered to pray for our needs and the needs of others as well.
We believe God cares deeply about our bodies and our suffering. Scripture reminds us that He is our healer, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. We cling to the promise, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5. We also remember the word, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17, and the encouragement, Is any among you sick, let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:14-15.
We notice your request mentions God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. To come to God for healing and for every need, we come in the name of Jesus, trusting that He died for our sins and rose again, and that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved, Romans 10:9. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus not only as healer but as Savior and Lord.
So together we pray. Father in heaven, we come before you in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear one who is suffering with pain in the back from lower to middle to upper, and in the neck, and in the left hip and left leg. You know every nerve, muscle, joint and bone, for you formed us and you sustain us. We ask according to your will that you would bring relief, restore what is out of alignment, reduce inflammation, and eliminate this pain. Touch this body with your healing hand, grant wisdom to any doctors or caregivers involved, and give peace and rest that passes understanding. Strengthen faith to trust you whether healing comes instantly or through a process, and help our friend to walk in your strength. We thank you that you hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we ask all this seeking your perfect will. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring this need to the Lord daily, to rest as you are able, to seek wise medical counsel as good stewards of the body God has given, and to trust that whether in healing or in sustaining grace, He is with you. We also thank you for your heart to pray for others, and we will continue to remember you before the throne of grace, believing that our Beloved Physician hears and answers according to His perfect love and wisdom.
