Prayer Warrior
Dear friends, I feel overwhelmed, please pray with me as I ask Jesus for help. I have trouble closing my old bank so they will charge me again for fees. They won't close the account or help. I am wrestling with the shadows of coercive control from a powerful high profile person who is in the news too much. I got away from the situation but he still hurt me, but he's above the law, I don't think he expected me to get away from him. I'm tired, I have to bring food aid home tomorrow, walking and with the rucksack. There's barely enough to get by. It's hard to get help and support. Jesus forgive my sins and have mercy. Amen

We hear your cry and we stand with you in prayer as you ask Jesus for help in this overwhelming season. We thank you for calling on His name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find mercy and grace in our time of need. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We know what it is to feel overwhelmed and tired, when burdens pile up and there seems barely enough to get by. The Lord sees you carrying this heavy rucksack, both the physical one tomorrow and the spiritual and emotional weight you bear now. We are reminded of His invitation, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28, and When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I Psalm 61:2. We cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18.

We pray with you about the trouble with the old bank and the unjust fees. It is frustrating when an institution will not help or close an account and you feel powerless. We ask God to make a way where there seems to be no way, to give you wisdom and favor, and to connect you with someone who can advocate for you and resolve this matter justly. We pray that He will provide for your daily needs, for He knows what you need before you ask. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6.

We also lift up before the Lord the shadows of coercive control you have endured from this powerful person. We thank God that you were able to get away, and we grieve that he still hurt you. No one is above the law in the eyes of God, even if it seems so among men. The Lord sees all injustice and He is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble Psalm 9:9. We pray for your complete healing from that harm, for protection from any further control or fear, and for justice according to His perfect will. We pray that God will restore what was stolen, bring truth into the light, and surround you with safe, trustworthy people who will support you and help you find the help that has been so hard to obtain. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. We encourage you to continue to stay safe, to set firm boundaries, and to seek ongoing support from trusted counselors, pastors, or support services as God leads, for healing often comes through community as well as prayer.

We hear your tiredness as you prepare to walk tomorrow to bring food aid home. We ask the Lord to strengthen your body for the journey, to guard your steps, and to multiply what little you have so that you are sustained. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength Isaiah 40:29.

And we rejoice with you as you ask Jesus to forgive your sins and have mercy, for His mercy is sure. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us Psalm 103:12. Through faith in Jesus, your sins are forgiven and you are held in His grace.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our dear one who is overwhelmed and weary. Lord, have mercy and forgive sins, cleanse and restore, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask You to lift this heavy burden, to lead to the rock that is higher, and to give rest. Provide Lord for every practical need, intervene in the bank matter and stop what is unjust, and grant wisdom for next steps. Heal the wounds left by coercive control, break every shadow of fear and shame, and let Your justice and protection be known. Strengthen for the walk tomorrow, provide enough and more than enough, and bring helpers and support into this life where help has been hard to find. We trust You are near to the brokenhearted and You will not forsake those who seek You. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our hope and our salvation, amen.

Thank you for reaching out and being so honest about what you are carrying. We hear how overwhelming this feels, the bank fees that will not stop, the exhaustion of having to walk tomorrow with a heavy rucksack just to bring food home, and the lingering weight after getting away from someone who used coercive control. Getting away took real courage, and it makes sense you still feel tired and on edge, especially when that person seems powerful and visible.

We are praying for you and we want to stand with you in the practical pressures too.

For the bank, it can help to have someone alongside you. If you have a trusted friend, advocate or local advice service, ask if they can sit with you while you call or go in person, and put the request to close the account in writing and keep a copy with the date. Having a witness and a paper trail often makes it harder for fees to continue.

For tomorrow, please pace yourself as much as you can, bring water, and see if the food aid team or a neighbor could help with a lift or sharing the carry even part of the way. And for the deeper hurt from the control you experienced, you do not have to sort it alone. A safe pastoral counselor or a confidential support service for abuse can walk with you at your pace, with no pressure.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Forgive sins and pour out mercy, give rest tonight, strength for tomorrow's walk, wisdom for the bank matter, and steady, safe support around them. Guard their heart and lead them step by step. Amen.

We join you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ who hears the faintest cry of the weary and overwhelmed.

Your prayer for forgiveness and mercy is the very place where healing begins. The Scripture says He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. Even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it, and not a word that ever fell from His dear lips but bears healing for some ill of our humanity. Come then to Him for pardon first, for where sin is forgiven healing comes from the same hand. Believe that through His atoning blood all condemnation is gone for the forgiven, and that He can breathe into your soul at this very moment a peace with God which passes all understanding.

We pray for you under the lingering shadows of that coercive control. The Lord sees what man may overlook and no power of this world is above His law and His justice. Though you have gotten away, the wounds remain, and He is the physician who can give joy to the troubled countenance, wipe the tear from the eye, and calm the heart now swelling with grief. We ask that in answer to your prayer, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one, He will preserve you from all evil and keep your soul, and that the evil one will not touch you. He knows your weariness and your struggle to find help and support, and He will not despise a broken and contrite heart.

We bring before the Lord also these heavy daily burdens that press upon you. We ask for His provision and strength for tomorrow as you must walk to bring food aid home with the rucksack, and for His sustaining grace when there is barely enough to get by. May He give strength to your steps and daily bread from His hand. We ask for wisdom and favour concerning the bank that will not close the account and threatens further fees, that you may find a just and timely resolution and that those who should help will act with honesty. If you have a faithful pastor or a trusted Christian friend or a local church family near you, we encourage you to let them walk beside you in these practical needs, that you need not carry them alone.

Let us pray together.

O Lord Jesus Christ, great Physician and Redeemer, we come for our sister who is overwhelmed and tired. Forgive her sins through Thy precious blood and have mercy upon her. Heal the broken in heart and bind up the wounds left by the hand of oppression. Let Thy healing leaves fall upon her and make her whole. Preserve her from all evil and from the devices of the enemy. Provide for her daily bread, strengthen her body for the walk before her, and open a way where there seems to be no way with the bank and with all earthly cares. Let her know that Thou art near, that Thou hast taken her by the hand to lift her up, and that Thy least word toward her is full of healing. Keep her in Thy fear that she shall not depart from Thee, and let her find rest in Thy finished work. In Thy name we ask, Amen.
