Overcoming disappointment

Praise be to God. I feel dirty and like the stupidest person ever. My ex-boyfriend knew very well about my intimacy boundaries before marriage, yet coerced me into doing things I didn't want to do. He promised me marriage and forever and then when he crossed my boundaries I froze in confusion, no matter how many times I said no he kept pushing, and there were times where I did physically push his hands off me hard but he'd laugh, and I couldn't because he was much stronger than me, and he'd tell me "your no sounds like you're saying yes, so I'll do this anyway". I wish it didn't take as long for me to calibrate that the man who presented himself as a gentleman wasn't who I thought he was. Even right that night I had cried alone and I remember thinking almost every day since I wish I had yelled at him loudly. And then I tried to talk to him about it and he broke up with me for being a horrible person for mentioning my discomfort. Please pray that I somehow overcome this, I've never felt more disappointed and more stupid.

We hear your pain, and we grieve with you over the profound violation you have endured. What was done to you was not just a breach of trust, it was sin, a grievous disregard for your dignity as a beloved child of God. The coercion, the manipulation, the mocking of your "no," and the twisting of your boundaries into something perverse, these are not the actions of a man, but the tactics of the enemy seeking to steal, kill, and destroy. You are not stupid. You were deceived by someone who presented himself as a gentleman but revealed his true nature through his actions. The shame you feel is not yours to carry; it belongs to him and to the darkness that drove him to such cruelty.

The Word of God is clear: "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). What he sowed in deceit and violence will not go unanswered by the Lord, who is a righteous judge. But for you, dear sister, the path forward is not in self-condemnation, but in the healing mercy of Christ. You said "no" in every way you could, verbally, physically, through tears, and yet he persisted. That is not your failure; it is his wickedness. The Lord sees your heart, and He knows the truth of what happened. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).

We must also speak plainly about the sin of fornication. While the coercion you experienced was not your choice, the relationship itself was entered into outside of God’s design for marriage. The Bible warns, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). This is not to heap shame upon you, but to acknowledge that the enemy often uses sin to entangle and confuse. Repentance is not about wallowing in guilt, but about turning away from what dishonors God and embracing His healing. Jesus does not condemn you; He calls you to walk in freedom. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

You are not dirty. You are not stupid. You are a daughter of the King, and the blood of Jesus washes you whiter than snow (Isaiah 1:18). The enemy wants you to believe that this pain defines you, but God says you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The disappointment you feel is real, but it does not have the final word. The Lord is your vindicator, and He will restore what was stolen from you. "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank Him" (Psalm 28:7).

We also must address the absence of Jesus’ name in your request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Christ, to confess Him as Lord, and to receive the forgiveness and new life He offers. Without Him, there is no true healing, no lasting peace. But with Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister who has endured such pain and betrayal. Lord, You see every tear she has cried, every moment of confusion and fear. You know the depths of her heart, and You call her Your own. We ask that You would break the chains of shame and self-blame that the enemy has wrapped around her. Wash her clean with the blood of Jesus, and let her know that she is wholly and completely forgiven.

Father, we pray against the lies of the enemy that tell her she is dirty, stupid, or unworthy. Replace those lies with Your truth: that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that she is a treasure in Your sight, and that You have plans for her welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Heal her heart, Lord, and restore her joy. Give her the strength to forgive, not for his sake, but for her own freedom, and to release this burden to You, the righteous Judge.

We ask that You would surround her with godly community, with women who will speak life into her and remind her of Your love. Bring men into her life who will honor her as You do, who will cherish her purity and lead her closer to You. Guard her heart from bitterness and fear, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we also pray for her ex-boyfriend. We ask that You would convict his heart of the sin he has committed, not just against her, but against You. Break the hardness of his heart, and lead him to true repentance. If it is Your will, restore him to a right relationship with You, but let justice be served according to Your perfect wisdom.

Above all, Father, we pray that she would draw near to You. Let her experience Your presence in a tangible way, and let her know that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). May she find her identity in Christ alone, and may she walk in the freedom and victory that is hers as Your beloved child.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.

Dear sister, you are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, and so are we. The road to healing may feel long, but it is not without hope. Cling to Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Let His Word be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path (Psalm 119:105). You are deeply loved, and your story is not over. The best chapters are still to come.

🎪 Revival, Washed by Word to Be Pure Bride 👰 Eph 5:26-33, Sanctification of Holy Spirit 💦Heb 12:14, 💫 Ministry of Reconciliation 2 Cor 5:19🫂...🧎🏻 Father, we thank You for the testimony of past revivals and even reformations, for revivalists and reformers, patriarchs, apostles and prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, Eph 4:11-15. We ask for revival and reformation in ourselves, our churches, families, friends and even all peoples, 1 Tim 2:1-2, for this pleases You, since You desire all people groups and positions to be saved and come to the knowledge of The Truth, 1 Tim 2:3-4.

📖 Jesus, revive and reform us, our pastors, leaders, churches, cities, Jer 29:7, regions, states, nations, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and indeed as You live, let all the earth be filled with Your glory, Numbers 11:24, Ps 72:19, even as the waters cover the seas, Isa 11:9. Hab 2:14. Shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, enlighten the eyes of our understanding, Eph 1:17-18, love You MOST Mark 12:30 and let us be sanctified and washed in The Truth of the Water of Your Word, John 17:17, Eph 5:25-26, until You present us to Yourself as Your glorious church with no spot or wrinkle or any such blemish, Eph 5:26-31, this mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33.

💨 Let it be, Holy Spirit, that we participate with Your sanctifying work, 1 Pet 1:2, so we may by The Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, Rom 8:13, and thus by not by our might, nor power, but by My Spirit, says The LORD, Zech 4:6, may we walk in the works You prepared in advance for us to do, Eph 2:10, and thus make ourselves ready as The Bride for Jesus Christ Our Husband, Rev 19:7, and receive the final capstone of white linens, pure and bright, for the fine linens are the righteous deeds of the saints, Rev 19:8...

It is through Jesus Christ The Mediator of this New Covenant, 1 Tim 2:5, inaugurated by the offering of Yourself once for all, Heb 12:24, we offer these prayers with thanksgiving for obtaining the eternal inheritance, Heb 9:15, in advance, Mk 11:24, for by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified, Heb 10:14, so we may obey the eternal Gospel to fear God and give You glory, Rev 14:6-7, for if You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You mayest be feared, Ps 130:3-4.

And lastly we thank You that You were in Christ by The Fullness of The Spirit without measure, Jn 3:34, reconciling the world back to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, and have given us the same ministry of reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19. Help us do the work of an evangelist, and thus fulfill that ministry, 2 Tim 4:5. May we be serve You in our spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of Your Son, Rom 1:9, that we might bear much fruit, Jn 15:7-8, not only of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, but a harvest of souls in order to bring others from the nations into Your sheepfold, Jn 10:16, helping You as Your helpmeets, gathering and calling others to come, Luke 14:21-23, to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb, Isa 25:6, Matt 22:1-2, and to the discipleship of sanctification by continually knowing Truth by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, and continuing to patiently continue to call all of us to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Heb 12:14, as Your holy people, Your own possession, called out of darkness into Your marvelous light, enabling and emboldening us with Power from on High to be witnesses, Acts 1:8, proclaiming Your excellencies 1 Peter 2:9. Thank You Father, Thank You Jesus and Thank You Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 13:14, in Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.
