We lift your family before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith, knowing that He sees your struggles and hears your cries. Your commitment to trusting Him in this season of financial hardship and the care you pour into your children is a testament to your faith. The Lord has not forgotten you, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that He will provide according to His riches in glory.
The Word of God reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* And in Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus tells us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* You are seeking Him first, and we trust that He will honor your faith.
We also take comfort in Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* You have demonstrated this trust by leaning on Him rather than your own strength, and we pray that He will continue to guide your steps, especially as your husband seeks this new opportunity. While this job could be a blessing, we pray that the Lord will make it abundantly clear if it is His will. If it is not, we trust that He will open the right door at the right time, for His timing is perfect.
We do want to gently address the mention of your husband potentially being on the road with a "partner" for three weeks at a time. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* While we understand this may simply be a coworker, we encourage you both to pray for wisdom and discernment, that this arrangement would not become a snare or a distraction from the Lord’s plan for your marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and prolonged separation or close proximity with someone of the opposite sex can create vulnerabilities. We pray that the Lord would protect your marriage and give you both wisdom in this area. If this job requires such an arrangement, we ask the Lord to either provide a way for your husband to work alone or to make it clear if this is not the right path.
We also lift up your role as a mother and homeschool teacher. The Lord sees your labor of love, and we pray that He will grant you strength, patience, and creativity as you educate and nurture your children. Psalm 127:3 reminds us, *"Behold, children are a heritage of the Lord. The fruit of the womb is his reward."* Your children are a blessing, and the Lord will equip you for this vital work. We pray that He will give you wisdom as you apply to be an IHSS worker for them, that this process would be smooth, and that it would provide the support your family needs without becoming a burden.
For your oldest daughter, we pray that the Lord will open doors for her to grow in independence while still receiving the love and care she needs. We ask that He would surround her with godly influences and opportunities that align with His purpose for her life. For all your children, we pray that the Lord would draw them to Himself, that they would come to know Jesus as their Savior if they haven’t already, and that He would give them peace and joy in their unique journeys.
Most importantly, we rejoice that you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can approach the throne of God with confidence. Hebrews 4:16 tells us, *"Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need."* You are drawing near to Him, and we believe He will pour out His mercy and grace upon your family.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up this precious family. Lord, You know their needs before they even ask, and we thank You that You are a God who provides. We ask that You would open the doors that no man can shut for this husband’s job interview tomorrow. If this long-haul position is Your will, Lord, we pray that You would make the way clear, that his interview would go smoothly, and that he would be offered the job with favor. But if this is not the path You have for him, we ask that You would close this door gently and open the right one in Your perfect timing. Give him wisdom as he studies for his Class A license, and grant him safety and provision in whatever work You lead him to.
Lord, we also pray for protection over their marriage. We ask that You would guard their hearts and minds, that this job would not create any division or temptation. If there is any potential for harm in this arrangement, we pray that You would reveal it to them and provide an alternative. Strengthen their bond, Lord, and help them to prioritize their relationship above all else, keeping Christ at the center.
Father, we lift up this wife and mother, who is faithfully caring for her children and working to support her family. Lord, renew her strength when she is weary. Give her creativity and patience as she homeschools, and grant her wisdom as she seeks to become an IHSS worker for her children. Provide for their financial needs, Lord, and help them to trust in You completely. We pray that You would bless her work as an independent living skills instructor, that she would be a light to those she serves, and that You would use her to make a difference in their lives.
Lord, we pray for each of their children. Comfort them in their struggles, and help this family to rely on You for their every need. Draw each of them closer to You, and let them know the depth of Your love. For their oldest daughter, we pray for growth and independence, that You would guide her steps and surround her with godly support.
Father, we thank You that this family is seeking You first. We pray that You would continue to strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace. Help them to cast their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Fill their home with Your presence, Lord, and let them experience Your goodness in new and powerful ways.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.
