Beloved of All
Our 21-year-old son ### decided to join the US Army after attending 2 years of college. He has been in the Army for 5 months thus far. ### is having second thoughts about the job that he signed up to train for in the military (Infantry Training). He shared with us that he doesn't desire to learn how to kill people. He also is having difficulty because of his value system; because of his up-bringing (he doesn't drink, smoke, or have illicit relations). He is being looked down upon because of his value system and his unwillingness to conform to the system. Many of the Officers talk down to him and call him all sorts of horrific names (even before the entire group of soldiers). And will punish them with hazing-type physical exercise. He will have an appointment this week to meet with a Retention Specialist regarding changing his training. However, he could be denied the opportunity to change and/or could be made to wait up to two years before he could change jobs. We are hoping that he won't be deployed to Iraq. Please that God's favor would be manifested.
