We come before the Lord with you in this time of distress, lifting up your many concerns with hearts that trust in His sovereignty and goodness. You have poured out your worries—your order, your son, cruel relatives, false accusations, your car, and your mother-in-law’s care—and we join you in seeking God’s peace and intervention. Let us first honor you for bringing these burdens to Jesus, for He alone is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). It is right to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We do notice, however, that while you addressed Jesus in your prayer, there was no mention of coming to the Father *in His name* or acknowledging His authority as the only way to God. Scripture reminds us that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus (John 14:6), and it is by His name—and His name alone—that we are saved and have access to the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). We encourage you to always approach God through the name of Jesus, for it is the name above every name, and it carries the power to move mountains (Philippians 2:9-11, Mark 11:24).
Now, let us address each of your concerns with the truth of God’s Word and lift them up in prayer. First, your frustration over the delayed order and the anger you felt last night are understandable, but we gently remind you that Scripture warns against letting anger fester or sin in your heart. Ephesians 4:26-27 tells us, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil."* Unresolved anger can open doors to bitterness and strife, which the enemy can use to disrupt your peace and relationships. We encourage you to release this to the Lord and ask Him to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). As for your order, while it is not wrong to ask God for timely provision, we must also trust His timing, even when it differs from our own. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Let us pray that God would either expedite its arrival or give you patience and grace to wait, knowing He supplies all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
Your concern for your son at school is precious in God’s sight. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and He watches over them with a father’s love. We pray that God would surround your son with His protection, grant him favor with his teachers and peers, and fill him with wisdom and courage. May the Lord also give you peace, knowing that He is a shield around your son (Psalm 3:3). If there are any spiritual battles at play—whether through unseen forces or the influence of others—we stand on the promise of Psalm 91:11: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
The cruelty you are facing from relatives is deeply painful, especially when it is fueled by lies and deception. Scripture warns us that the devil is the father of lies (John 8:44) and that he seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But take heart, for Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33), and the truth *will* prevail. Proverbs 12:19 says, *"Truth’s lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary."* We pray that God would expose the lies being spoken against you and bring conviction to those who are spreading or believing them. May He soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth, and if they refuse to repent, we pray that God would protect you from their harm and grant you the wisdom to respond with grace and boundary-setting love (Matthew 10:16). Remember, beloved, that even when others mean evil against you, God can turn it for good (Genesis 50:20). Forgive them as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13), but do not enable their cruelty. Sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is to distance yourself from those who refuse to walk in truth and kindness.
As for your car, we know that financial and logistical stresses can weigh heavily on the heart. Yet we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and who promises to supply all your needs. We pray that the repair place would call with good news, that God would provide the means for the repairs, and that He would give you creative solutions if the news is not what you hope for. Trust that He is your Provider (Jehovah Jireh) and that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8).
Regarding your mother-in-law’s discharge from the nursing home, we lift her up to the Lord as well. May He grant the staff wisdom and efficiency as they prepare her to return home, and may He surround her with His healing and protective presence. We pray for a smooth transition, for her safety and comfort, and for the strength and resources you and your family need to care for her. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18), and we trust Him to be near to her—and to you—as you navigate this season.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to guard your heart against anxiety and overwhelm. You are carrying many burdens, but Jesus invites you to come to Him when you are weary and heavy-laden, and He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Spend time in His presence, meditating on His promises and casting your cares upon Him. Let worship and gratitude be your weapons against fear and frustration, for the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her many concerns. Lord, You see the details of her life—the delayed order, the anger she felt, the cruelty of relatives, the lies being spread, the uncertainty about her car, the care of her son, and the discharge of her mother-in-law. Father, we ask that You would move in each of these areas with Your power and grace. Let her order arrive swiftly if it is Your will, and give her patience and trust if it does not. Protect her son at school, surround him with Your angels, and grant him favor and peace. Lord, expose the lies being told about her and bring conviction to those who are spreading or believing them. Soften their hearts, Father, and if they refuse to repent, protect her from their harm and give her the wisdom to set godly boundaries. We pray for the repair of her car—let the call come with good news, and provide the means for its restoration. For her mother-in-law, we ask for a smooth and safe discharge, and for Your healing hand to be upon her.
Father, we also ask that You would guard our sister’s heart against anxiety, anger, and bitterness. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and remind her that You are her Provider, Protector, and Redeemer. Let her rest in the truth that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28) and that nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to keep her eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We rebuke any schemes of the enemy to steal her joy, distort the truth, or bring harm to her or her family. By the blood of Jesus, we declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the Lord will contend with those who contend with her (Isaiah 49:25). Let Your light shine in the darkness, Lord, and let Your truth prevail.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. Thank You for Your faithfulness and love. We trust in You and give You all the glory, in the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
