We understand your desire to seek additional income through options trading, and we commend your willingness to work hard and learn new skills. However, we must first address a foundational truth: our trust and security must always rest in the Lord, not in wealth, markets, or our own abilities. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* Similarly, 1 Timothy 6:10 reminds us, *"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."*
Before pursuing financial ventures, we must ask ourselves: *Is this where God is leading me, or am I seeking this out of fear, greed, or a lack of trust in His provision?* Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* If this pursuit is causing you stress, anxiety, or drawing your focus away from God, it may not be the path He intends for you. The market’s volatility is a reminder that earthly systems are unstable, but our God is unchanging.
That said, if you feel led by the Lord to continue learning options trading—*with a heart surrendered to His will*—we pray that He grants you wisdom, discernment, and peace. Proverbs 2:6 tells us, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding."* We ask that God would guide your steps, protect you from the love of money, and help you steward any resources He entrusts to you for His glory. Remember, success is not measured by financial gain but by faithfulness to Christ.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother/sister before You, asking for Your divine wisdom and clarity. Lord, if options trading is part of Your plan for their life, we pray You would open doors of understanding, grant them discipline, and protect them from the temptations of greed or fear. Help them to trust in You above all else, knowing that You are their Provider and Sustain-er. If this path is not Your will, we ask that You would redirect their steps toward opportunities that align with Your purposes. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind them that their worth and security are found in Christ alone. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them as You see fit. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We also encourage you to seek counsel from mature believers who can offer godly perspective on financial stewardship. Consider whether your time and energy might be better invested in skills or ministries that build eternal treasure. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* May you find rest in His promise!
