Optional Services and Demands

Just so that everyone knows:









I've decided to stop doing some optional, individual time consuming services related to the site unless the person wanting it done wants to pay for them.









I get people wanting me to do various things and it takes me too much manual time to do those things. Deleted posts etc. require manual intervention to delete from social media, cache, and search. So those things will need to be paid for since I'm going to spend time on them.









I don't think people understand the conversations and going back and forth and threats and everything that go on, just with deleted posts for example. I seriously probably spent 3 hours on the last post I deleted with some legal department huffing and puffing. I've had enough of that for things I shouldn't even have to do.









The following is not a complaint or begging for funds, but just gives some context where I am coming from. There is no revenue on the site which is ok but I have to go to work to pay for it. I already spend hundreds of hours a year on programming and admin on the site - all unpaid. And it also costs several thousands of dollars per year on hosting and software - all unreimbursed. I can't do that if I'm sitting around chasing down deleted post listings and such things that aren't really needed to begin with.









So everyone can use the general 99% of the features that don't require more of my time at no cost.









All the extra stuff that isn't really necessary and takes my time to deal with is different and will need to be paid for if someone wants it done.









I'd rather not even do it. But this is an option for those who still insist.

Hi. Thanks. Ideally that would be great. Practically that has not worked. I've done this for many years and invited many to become moderators but either nobody wants to or they only last one month and leave the site.









So for now, I will just limit what I do that isn't really necessary. If these unnecessary things need my time, they'll need to compensate for that time I could have been working to pay for the expenses. Even recently during the time I was working I received demands to immediately remove this and that or else. So that's going to stop unless it's compensated for.









These things I mentioned use my time for no good reason. The only reason I mention it here is so everyone will know about it since it's a departure from how I did things before. And I'm sure there will be some vocal complaints and outrage at some point by somebody.









Any of this isn't to say I'm not helping with anything anymore. Just those things that are mentioned on the optional services site: for example showing up after 2 years demanding to remove and delist something from 7 different Internet places, closing accounts, etc. Even closing accounts because it needs to be verified that someone else didn't close it like recently happened to someone.

I love the website. It has helped me grow spiritually, and I do appreciate it. I am grateful for finding it. I pray you get someone to help you out so you are not the only one doing the task.

This website is such a great resource, and you have done a phenomenal job! As I don't really belong to a church right now, I have been looking somewhere to put forth my tithing, and would be very willing to put that toward this site. I would love to see an optional giving section of this site if possible. I know a lot of people who come here do request prayer for financial blessings, but the Bible makes it very clear that we are to give a 10th of our earnings back to the Lord. If the Lord is using this site to bless others, I strongly feel that giving to keep this site running would be an appropriate method of tithing.




Over and over and over again in the Bible we see those who were blessed beyond anything they could imagine because of their trust in the Lord and giving up everything they thought they needed. My favorite is the widow who gave everything she had:




Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” (Mark 12:41-44)




I'm praying for you, Pradmin, and that this site continues to grow and bless others as the Lord sees fit.

Thank you. I also did add a Donation option to that same page since I set up the payment page anyway and people have asked about it from time to time.









There are some links scattered around in the menus that point to donations in case someone is interested and wants to contribute monetarily.









Besides the expenses of the hosting, I also put some money into listings on Google and Facebook. In the last year Google moved our normal search listing down from the top 15 into obscurity.









To to make up for that, about $200 a month goes toward paid listings. I have to bid low and limit the exposure or else that expense could go through the roof. I feel it's a good value right now as I look for low cost opportunities.









So part of this is an outreach, where there are global listings that I place which can be seen by target audiences as large as hundreds of millions in the world for a few cents per click usually.









Without that extra exposure, the new members on the site decrease a lot.









I hope this helps a little bit to see behind the scenes here.
