We hear your request for support in this new business venture, and we stand with you in seeking God’s guidance and provision. It is good to ask for the help of others as you step into this opportunity, for Scripture tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). The Lord often works through the encouragement and assistance of fellow believers, so we pray that your keyworker and others would come alongside you in wisdom and faith.

However, we must also remind you that all our endeavors must be submitted to Christ, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). If this venture is not aligned with His will or if it distracts from His purposes for your life, we ask that He would redirect your steps. We pray that this business would not only prosper materially but also spiritually, bringing glory to God and blessing to others. "Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed" (Proverbs 16:3).

We also notice that your prayer did not include the name of Jesus, who is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to consider doing so, for He alone offers true peace, purpose, and eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your favor and wisdom over this new business venture. Lord, we pray that You would open doors of opportunity and provide the support and resources needed to succeed. Guide every decision, every partnership, and every step taken, that it may align with Your perfect will. Father, we ask that You would soften the hearts of those who can assist, particularly the keyworker and others involved, that they may offer godly counsel and encouragement.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or greed that may seek to derail this endeavor, and we declare that this business will be a vessel for Your glory. May it be a blessing to many and a testimony of Your faithfulness. Lord, if there is anything in this venture that does not honor You, we ask that You would reveal it and lead them in righteousness.

We also pray for the salvation of this individual if they have not yet placed their trust in Jesus Christ. Draw them near, Lord, and let them know the peace that comes from a relationship with You. May they seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, trusting that all else will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33).

In all things, we surrender this request to You, knowing that Your plans are perfect. We ask these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Father, we lift this new business venture to you. Thank you for the skills and dreams you’ve given. We ask for your wisdom and clear direction, and for open doors where you are leading. Surround our friend with the right support, through the keyworker, through loved ones, and through your Spirit. Great good shall come of a business that is first laid before the Throne of Grace. You have done wisely to seek prayer, for the conviction that we need a Guide marks the beginning of wisdom. A venture launched in self-reliance rushes to ruin; haste is the author of much mischief. But bowing in submission to the will of God furnishes unerring guidance. Avoid everything that is evil, and let the great principles infused by the Spirit direct your path.

Make this new business your Father’s business. As our blessed Lord was all eye and hand for His Father’s work, so consecrate your counting-house to Him. If the cause of Christ becomes the true aim of your labor, if the saving of souls and the relief of the destitute lie beneath your ledgers, then you shall do your business well and be useful in your generation. The man of some small property who can preach in the marketplace by his integrity and generosity renders the grandest service.

You ask support from your keyworker and your church, and rightly so. We are to teach transgressors God’s ways and uphold one another in every good endeavor. A prosperous hand may well become the father of a poor church, giving rather than taking. Yet the surest result of looking to the Lord for guidance is not merely a thriving trade but the rest which Christ alone can give to the weary soul. He says, “Come unto Me, and I will give you rest.” Count all else loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Him.

Draw near with fervent intercession over this venture, mixing your labor with prayer, for you must speak to God for men before you speak to men for God. And though the path may at times descend, fear not. He will bring you up out of every miry place and set your feet upon a rock. Go forward then, making your business one long psalm of praise, and He shall establish your goings, and afterward receive you to Glory.

Yea, assist this one in whatsoever business need is asked of you, for such succorers have been a help to many. Yet know that we are of the two more inclined to evil; while we make worldly ventures even an art and a business, when shall we escape that furnace? The things that enter in defile not, but a soul keeping pure from filthy talking and songs becomes grave and chaste. He who knows the Scriptures endures all things manfully, referring them to faith, and is not offended at what happens. The earth and heavens shall perish, but the Lord remainest; give earnest heed to things heard, for that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish. Taste not every depth, but in such matters as lie within your power, reach out a hand, for the Lord Himself tasted death for every man that we might take courage.

It is good to ask the Lord’s blessing as you step into something new, and there is real wisdom in wanting to be about your Father’s business. The first recorded words of Jesus remind us of that deep resolve: “I must be about my Father’s business.” That was the very purpose of His life, to do the Father’s will. As you enter this venture, let that same thought anchor you. Let it be more than a thing you hope works out; may it be a true venture of faith, stepping out to see what the Lord might want to do right where you are.

There is something commendable in working with your own hands to supply what you need. Paul often refused support so that no one would think he was in it for the money. He made tents. He did all kinds of labor. He remained free from depending on men, yet he made himself a servant to all. I’ve walked a similar road at times, doing outside work to support the family while answering the call to minister. It kept my motives clear. It proved the work was not a pretense for gain. As you build this business, keep that heart. Serve with integrity. Provide for yourself, and let your labor speak for itself.

At the same time, be careful with what drives you. There are always those who exist for their own support, always asking to be ministered to, always sending out their pre-addressed envelope. Paul wanted fruit to abound to the Philippians’ account, not simply help for himself. He was thankful for their gifts not because he needed them, but because their giving put eternal fruit on their ledger. You mentioned wanting the support of your keyworker and another. Let the reason be honorable. Let the fruit of this work, and the fruit of their backing, be something that lasts beyond mere income. Let it open new doors to witness, to share the gospel, to defend and confirm the good news. Every workplace becomes a pulpit in its own way when you are free of men and yet a servant to all.

There is also a season for everything. Paul said the Philippians had lacked opportunity for a time, not because they did not want to help, but simply because the opening was not there. God brings opportunities in His timing. Use this one wisely. Make sure this is not a matter of rushing into something where you have no business being, or taking hold of something you shouldn’t. Pray firmly about it, and refuse to give place to any motive that would dishonor the Lord. Saul tried to dress up disobedience as a planned sacrifice, and it cost him everything. Let your venture be obedience from the start.

Work hard. Trust the Lord to supply. Keep your soul free from entanglement with empty worldly schemes. Let your eye be single. The goal is not to squeeze support from people but to be about the Father’s business, whether you’re making tents or opening a new storefront. As you go forward, may you increase in wisdom and in favor with God and with man. May the fruit of this endeavor abound to your account in the day of Christ. I’ll be praying. God bless you.
