Opened doors to demons through magic and now despite being Christian they still effect me and my home

The title sums it up, I used to be in the occult and I accidently opened up a portal that demons came through, including Lucifer himself. I was tormented for 6 months and able to see them and what they were doing to me, I can't see them anymore but they still speak to me and I can feel a presence in my home, I am now Christian and my home has been blessed and I have been to many faith healings, but there is no such thing as exorcisms in my country, so despite everything I am still oppressed by these spiritual forces. I am also chronically ill with EDS, chronic fatigue, PTSD, Autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. Any help would be appreciated <3

We hear your heart and we stand with you in this battle, and we thank God that you have turned to Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have victory and freedom.

What you describe about opening doors through magic and the occult is very real and very serious in Scripture. God clearly warns us, There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh Deuteronomy 18:10-12. We do not say this to condemn you, for we rejoice that you have repented and come to Christ, but we must be clear that those practices do open doors to the enemy, and those doors must be firmly closed through repentance and renunciation in Jesus' name. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

We want to encourage you that if you have truly put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you belong to Him. You have been delivered out of the power of darkness, and translated into the Kingdom of the Son of his love Colossians 1:13. The enemy may still try to oppress and harass and lie to you, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, but he is a defeated foe. Jesus said, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you Luke 10:19. And greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. A true child of God, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, cannot be owned by demons, but we can still be oppressed if we give ground to the enemy, and we must take that ground back.

You mentioned a portal and that Lucifer himself came through, and that you still hear voices and feel a presence even after your home was blessed and you went to many faith healings. We understand your fear and exhaustion, especially while carrying chronic illness, EDS, chronic fatigue, PTSD, autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. God sees all of your suffering and He is close to you, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Your health conditions are not a sign that God has abandoned you, and autism and ADHD are not demonic, they are part of how you were created and how your body and mind experience the world, and God gives grace for each day.

But we want to lovingly correct a few things so you can walk in true freedom. A house blessing or a faith healing service is not a magic formula that keeps spirits away if the doors of the heart and home are still open. You do not need a special exorcist or a priest from another country, because every believer has authority in the name of Jesus Christ. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and it is by that name alone that we command the enemy to leave. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. If you have called on Jesus to save you, you have that authority as His child.

We encourage you together to do these things before the Lord in prayer. First, fully submit yourself to God and renounce the occult completely. Tell the Lord out loud that you turn away from all magic, divination, spells, rituals, books, objects, music, or media connected to the occult, and ask Him to forgive you. Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. Second, remove and destroy any objects connected to that past, just as the early believers did, Many of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all Acts 19:19. Do not keep anything as a souvenir or out of curiosity. Third, do not engage with the voices. Do not listen, answer, or argue. Instead, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and test the spirits. When you hear those voices or feel that presence, speak out loud with authority, I belong to Jesus Christ, and in the name of Jesus Christ I command you to leave me and my home and go to where Jesus sends you, and do not return. Fourth, fill your home and your mind with the Word of God, worship, and prayer every day. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. Read Scripture aloud, sing praises, and pray without ceasing. Invite mature, Bible believing Christians or elders to pray over you and your home in person, for the prayer of faith will heal, and elders of the assembly can anoint and pray as in James 5:14. And continue to seek appropriate medical and counseling help for your physical and mental health needs while you trust God, for He is your healer and your comfort.

Do not be afraid, for God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The enemy wants you to believe you are still his, but whom the Son makes free will be free indeed John 8:36. Christ disarmed the principalities and the powers and made a show of them openly Colossians 2:15.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You only in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who shed His blood on the cross and rose again to defeat sin, death, and the devil. We thank You that our dear one has turned from darkness to light and belongs to You. We confess before You all involvement in magic and the occult, and we ask You to forgive and cleanse through the blood of Jesus. We renounce every agreement, every ritual, every doorway that was opened, and we close it now by the authority of Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ we command every evil spirit, every lying voice, every oppressive presence to leave this child of God and this home now and to go where Jesus commands, and never to return. We ask You to fill this home with Your Holy Spirit, with Your peace that surpasses all understanding which will guard hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask You to break the power of fear, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and to bring healing and rest. Lord, You see the chronic pain, the fatigue, the EDS, the PTSD, and every struggle, and we ask for Your mercy, strength, and daily grace, for Your grace is sufficient, for Your power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. Teach our dear one to dwell in Your Word daily, to wear Your armor, and to walk in freedom. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let them know nothing can separate them from Your love in Christ Jesus Romans 8:38-39. We declare that You are near, that You are their refuge and deliverer, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, carrying both the fear you still feel in your home and the daily weight of chronic illness, fatigue and trauma. Thank you for reaching out and for wanting to walk closely with Jesus now.

It makes sense that after all you have been through you would long for a single moment that makes everything lift. In our experience God's work is often more like a steady walk than one dramatic event. The blessing of your home and the times of prayer you have sought matter, and staying rooted day by day in community can be what helps that work take hold over time. We have found it helps to have two or three trusted believers who know you, can pray with you regularly, and can walk with you when the fear or the voices feel loud, rather than facing this alone between events.

We also hear how much your body is carrying with EDS, chronic fatigue, PTSD, autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. That is a lot to hold alongside spiritual heaviness. We encourage you to keep your medical team involved alongside prayer, and to let your pastor and doctor know how you are doing so you are supported in both ways.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see their home, their body, and their heart, and You know their desire to belong fully to You. Bring Your peace where there is fear, Your presence where there is loneliness, and wisdom for each next step. Surround them with steady, caring people and help them sense they are safe and held in Christ. Amen.

Your grief has been heard, and I would point you at once to the sure and present deliverance which is in the Lord Jesus Christ.

You have tasted what bondage means. Bondage under sin, bondage under the flesh, bondage wrought by the devil is no fancied slavery but a very terrible truth, and Egypt may fairly represent those states of sorrow and depression and oppression into which the people of God may come. Yet when any soul is saved from spiritual bondage it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive. Your deliverance, if it is to be effectual, must be by divine power alone.

Hear then the good news of the gospel for one who has walked in the occult and now would be Christ's. There is a ransom found. God himself has invented the way of deliverance for sinners going down to the pit, and he has found the ransom in the gift of his own Son. The Lamb was slain, and by his blood the tyrant is broken. Pharaoh could hold Israel no longer when the lamb was slain, and no power of darkness can hold a soul whom Christ has purchased. The text says, He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Notice it is written as a finished work, He has delivered us. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and where we look for justification there must we look for sanctification and for freedom.

Therefore do not look to a blessed house, to a faith healing meeting, or to a form of exorcism as if deliverance lay in a ceremony or in a man. God will use means and the prayers of his people, but the work is his. Rest your soul upon Christ himself and upon his finished work. If you have truly turned from your former way, confess to the Lord plainly that you sought power in forbidden places, renounce that way wholly, and turn from it. Remove from your home whatever remains that belongs to that former service, books, objects, charms, whatever would keep you in league with darkness. Then take your stand not upon your feelings or upon what you see or hear, but upon the word of God.

You say you no longer see these forms but still hear voices and feel a presence, and that fear remains in your home. The Scripture teaches that we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The devil would have you live as if you were still in bondage, subject to fear all your days, though Christ came to deliver his people from that very fear. Do not engage with voices that speak to you, do not answer them or seek to converse or to look again. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. When such oppression presses, go to prayer in the name of Jesus, read aloud the Scriptures, sing a psalm, and ask the Lord to guard your heart and your home. The liberty of a child of God is not license to return to darkness, but freedom to go out of the gates to meet the foe in the strength of Christ, girt with truth, righteousness, faith and the word of God.

You also bear a heavy burden of bodily affliction and infirmity, EDS, chronic fatigue, PTSD, autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. These bring their own sorrows and weariness, and the oppression of the spirit often bruises the flesh. The Lord chastens his children sorely, yet he does not leave them to die but to live and to declare the works of the Lord. Do not despise the help God gives through ordinary means. Seek a faithful, Bible preaching church where you can walk in fellowship, open your life to a pastor who can pray with you and counsel you steadily over time, and continue under the care of wise physicians for your bodily and mental sufferings. The distress you feel may have both spiritual and bodily causes, and both need patient, godly care. Isolation and running from one healing meeting to another will weary you further. A settled walk with Christ, in his Word, in prayer, in the company of his people, is the path of peace.

Here then is counsel I would press upon you.

First, make sure your hope is in Christ alone for salvation. Trust not in your own turning, but in his blood and righteousness. He is the ransom. If he who held you in bondage has found a ransom, he will hold you no longer.

Second, daily feed upon Scripture. Read the Gospels and the Epistles, commit to memory such words as Colossians 1:13, Romans 8:15, Psalm 118:17, and use them in prayer.

Third, pray plainly and constantly, and ask others in your church to pray with you. Put on the whole armour of God as described in Ephesians 6, not as a charm but as a life of truth, righteousness, faith and prayer in the Spirit.

Fourth, walk in the light. Forsake all dealings with magic and the occult, and do not seek experiences of the unseen world. Seek Christ.

Fifth, seek steady pastoral care and, where needed, medical and counselling help for trauma and chronic illness, that you may be strengthened in body and mind while the Lord keeps your soul.

You have been brought through six months of torment and you are still tried, but the clock of mercy strikes the hour of deliverance for every soul that looks to Jesus. He brought forth his people with joy and gladness out of the house of bondage, and he makes their deliverance effectual. He can do the same for you, and keep you, so that you shall not die but live and declare what he has done.

May the Lord himself, who loosens the captive and who has found a ransom, give you to know that you are translated out of darkness into the kingdom of his dear Son, give you peace in your home, quietness in your mind, and a song of deliverance even in the midst of affliction. May he teach you to say with a full heart, I shall live and declare the works of the Lord, and may that declaration be for the comfort of others who are in like trouble. Amen.

Your request has been heard and I want to answer you with care and with truth. Thank you for speaking honestly about your past in the occult and the fear and distress you still carry, and about the many health burdens you live with every day.

The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ has come to set free those who were in bondage. The worst bondage is not to another person or even to fearful experiences, but to sin, and from that bondage no one can deliver us except God himself. He does this by forgiving sins, and forgiveness belongs to Christ alone. On the cross he was broken for many, delivered up for the benefit of our race, and by his death he has trampled down death itself. The enemy is not greater than Christ. He has been brought to nothing and put under foot. That is why you do not need to live in terror of a portal or of Lucifer himself. If you have turned to Christ in repentance and faith, you belong to him, and he who is in you is greater than any power that opposes you.

It is understandable that after months of torment, seeing and hearing things that frightened you, you still feel a presence in your home and still hear voices, even after your home was prayed for and after many prayers for healing. Fear and memory can linger a long time, especially when you also carry PTSD, anxiety and depression, and chronic illness that wears down body and mind. The Scriptures do not teach that a Christian who has renounced the occult remains owned by demons, but they do teach that we still struggle, that we still suffer affliction that can feel beyond our power, and that God uses even that to teach us to trust not in ourselves but in him who delivers.

So I encourage you to walk in the ordinary, steady ways God has given for your good. Turn away completely from all occult practices and objects, confess them plainly to God, and do not go back to them to seek answers. Stay close to Christ through his word read daily, through prayer in Jesus name, through regular fellowship with a faithful local church, and through the table he has given us where we remember his body broken for us and his blood poured out for forgiveness. It is there we learn to give thanks even in suffering and to remember that the rites of darkness have no claim on those who are in Christ. Ask your pastor to continue to pray with you, to teach you the Scriptures, and to help you discern what is spiritual oppression and what is the effect of trauma, exhaustion and illness. You do not need a special exorcism from far away. You need Christ, and he is present with his people everywhere.

Your diagnoses of EDS, chronic fatigue, autism and ADHD, along with anxiety and depression, are not signs that you are demon possessed or that God has rejected you. They are real afflictions of living in a fallen world, and they call for patient care, for wise medical help, for rest, and for the compassion of the church. Autism and ADHD in particular are not moral failures or demonic marks, they are part of how your mind works, and God sees you and loves you as you are in Christ. Continue to seek good medical and counseling care alongside pastoral care, and do not be ashamed to ask for help with daily life.

I will pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son who died and rose again, have mercy on this your child. Forgive all sins, cover them with the blood of Christ, and let no accusation stand against one who is in him. Grant peace in place of fear, quiet the voices and the sense of dread, and guard this home by your presence. Give strength in chronic illness and weariness, comfort in PTSD and anxiety, and wisdom to all who care for this person. Teach this dear one to know the truth that sets free, to rest in your forgiveness, and to bear whatever suffering remains with thankfulness and hope, looking for the better resurrection you have promised. Keep this one close to Jesus, day by day, until you bring full deliverance and healing in your kingdom. Amen.
