Disciple of Prayer
Good Day Family,

My name is ### and I am in a position where the only help that would make a difference is the Divine Grace and Intervention of the Lord. I have been married to my husband for going on 14 years in June. We have had to be separated from our 3 children (2 different occasions) which has broken him as a man. I do not blame others for anyone's downfall but the example he had growing up was not a good one, and the only attempt made to rectify that by his family was to look after our children when we faced the same problems they had.

We feel estranged from our children, treated like less than and like we are incapable parents. We have had a drug problem individually and then together... We have had fewer days sober in those 14 years than we have had high, often drowning in our own feelings of guilt, shame and inadequacy.

I found a job by the Grace of God in 2024, My husband unfortunately, even if he celebrates my wins, tends to spiral out of feeling useless to his family. He's tried to push me away, he's tried to end his life. He tried being put in prison, but I know in my heart that he hasn't gone down because the Lord knows what plans He has for him and those are not the way.

I want to see him flourish, not because of money, because his sense of accomplishment and self love and respect will grow as he develops, shaping him into the man he is meant to be. No one wants to give him a chance because he has a record and work is scarce enough if you have the qualification, and he doesn't.

I designed a learning program to basically help fill in the gaps of what he's missed out on like, a driver's license, budgeting, creating your own goals, working on mindset. I really can't possibly do anything else and when I get to a helpless point this is where I turn to, the family that doesn't just give up or get nasty about situations but who stand together in prayer knowing that Our Father will hear us.

I sincerely approach the Lord, interceding for my husband, ###, Lord I lift him up to you Lord and ask you to take control like no one else can, I bind and rebuke the spirit of addiction, of illness, of torment and of unwillingness. These things are not of the Lord and are not welcome in my life or any of the lives of my loved ones and fellow believers, in Jesus name I pray for these powers to leave. I pray that my husband would become faithful to me, rise above his mistakes and take charge off his life. I pray doors will open for him and that he will see that it's not too late, it never is. Bless my husband Lord and our 3 children, ###, ### and ###.

I pray this in your Son's precious name, Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord & Saviour.

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who WAS, who IS and who IS to come!

Amen

We stand with you in this painful and hopeful season, lifting your family before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion and faith. The weight of addiction, separation from your children, and the despair that has gripped your husband is not too heavy for the Lord to bear. We declare with you that His plans for your family are for good, not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of addiction, shame, and hopelessness in the mighty name of Jesus. These chains are broken, and your husband is set free by the power of the cross.

Father God, we ask You to renew the heart and mind of this husband. Where there has been brokenness, restore. Where there has been failure, redeem. Where there has been despair, infuse hope. Your Word says that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray this transformation over him. Soften his heart to receive Your love and purpose for his life. Break the lies that tell him he is useless or beyond redemption. You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we trust You to rewrite his story.

Lord, we lift up this marriage before You. The enemy has sought to divide, but You are the God who binds up wounds and restores what has been lost. Strengthen the bond between this husband and wife. Let them stand together in faith, not as two broken people, but as a united front against the schemes of the devil. Remind them that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8) and that Your grace is sufficient for every weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We pray for healing in their relationship—healing from the pain of separation, the weight of addiction, and the lies that have told them they are unworthy of love or restoration.

Father, we also lift up their children. The pain of separation has left deep wounds, but You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Restore the relationship between these parents and their children. Let Your love be the bridge that reconnects them. Guard the hearts of these children, Lord. Protect them from bitterness, confusion, or the lies of the enemy. Surround them with Your peace and remind them that they are deeply loved by You and by their parents. We pray for reconciliation—not just in the physical sense, but in the heart. Let forgiveness flow, and let trust be rebuilt on the foundation of Your love.

We also pray for practical provision. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Open doors of opportunity for this husband. Where man has said "no," let Your "yes" prevail. Equip him with the skills, the confidence, and the favor he needs to step into the purpose You have for him. Bless the learning program his wife has designed, Lord. Let it be a tool in Your hands to build him up, to fill in the gaps, and to prepare him for the future You have planned. We declare that his past does not define him—his future in You does.

Lord, we ask You to surround this family with Your presence. When the nights are long and the battles feel overwhelming, remind them that You are their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them feel Your arms around them, holding them up when they are weak. Give them the strength to persevere, the faith to believe in Your promises, and the courage to keep fighting for their family.

We also want to gently address the reality of sin in this situation. Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but it is not greater than the power of the Holy Spirit. We encourage both of you to seek accountability, counseling, and support from a biblical community. The road to recovery is not walked alone—it is walked with Jesus and with brothers and sisters in Christ who can lift you up when you stumble. Confess your struggles to one another, pray for one another, and bear each other’s burdens (James 5:16, Galatians 6:2). The enemy wants you to hide in shame, but the Lord calls you to walk in the light, where healing and freedom are found.

Finally, we want to remind you that your hope is not in your own strength, your husband’s progress, or even the restoration of your family. Your hope is in Jesus Christ alone. He is the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is the one who began a good work in you and will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, not on the circumstances. Worship Him in the storm, trust Him in the waiting, and believe Him for the impossible.

Heavenly Father, we come before You now, lifting up this family to You. We ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon them. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare breakthrough over addiction, restoration over brokenness, and hope over despair. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your love be the foundation upon which this family is rebuilt. We ask all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Dear [Original Poster],

We're praying with you today, believing in faith for the restoration of your family. We're standing in agreement with you, asking the Lord to renew your husband's heart and mind, to fill the gaps in his life, and to open doors of opportunity for him.

We're also interceding for your children, asking the Lord to heal their hearts, to restore your relationships, and to guard their futures. We're believing for reconciliation, forgiveness, and trust to be rebuilt on the foundation of God's love.

We're asking the Lord to provide practically for your family. We're believing for provision, for the learning program to be a tool in God's hands, and for your husband's past not to define his future.

We're also gently encouraging accountability, counseling, and support from a biblical community. We're believing for healing, freedom, and restoration to come as you walk in the light with Jesus and with brothers and sisters in Christ.

Lastly, we're reminding you that your hope is in Jesus Christ alone. We're believing for His peace to guard your hearts and minds, for breakthrough over addiction, restoration over brokenness, and hope over despair.

We're praying all of this in Jesus' name, believing that He hears our prayers and will move on your behalf. Keep trusting in Him, and watch for His faithfulness in your family's story.

In love and faith,

Thank you for your support, I made the biggest sale in my sales career today, somehow I've managed to maintain my sense of humility and gratitude in an industry that can become greedy. Although I should want to celebrate, my heart is with my husband, wondering what his mind is doing with the information, wondering why he's so quiet and kept to himself at the moment. Fear makes me want to do something, anything to make it right but this, like you said, is a time to rely on His strength, not my own.

I pray our eldest will be healed of her turmoil, of her fears of abandonment. My brother molested her—I found out almost 4 years after it happened, I thought letting them live with family would protect them, but I wasn't the only danger, since then ### has dropped out of high school, had severe anorexia, is on medication I don't think is right for her but my parents force her to take it out of desperation to help and helplessness.... She is very much in the same mindset as my husband, no prospects, feeling undereducated but not motivated towards doing anything, stuck and feeling alone.

I pray Lord, interceding for ### and ###, that they will be forced to feel and see Your love and the love I have for them, that they will be kinder to themselves and have a renewed desire to want to be better, for themselves, for God and that would be a real win even though Lord I thank you for the sale I made, the success I have carries our family and I am grateful I am able. Lord please restore the connection my husband and I have lost with our twins, ### and ###, please reunite us, we trust in your plan and surrender our lives to you Father.

Amen

May the Lord thy God fully cover you, your husband, and your children in the blood of Jesus Christ. A scripture for your husband: Joel 2:25-26. A scripture reminding you that God will exalt you both. 1 Peter 5:6-8. Congratulations on being sober. The Lord will honor this and use it for your good. Philippians 4:19 reminding you that God will supply all your needs. Wish I could help more. Truly praying to our Heavenly Father for you. Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
