Only Those Who Keep The Lord Jesus Christ's Commandments Truly Love Him!

The Lord Jesus Christ said the following, "If ye love me, keep my commandments," (John 14:15). It's not just a matter of someone saying they love Jesus. It is a matter of keeping the Master's commandments, and thus by doing so showing that one loves the Lord Jesus Christ. Father in heaven, in the power of the Holy Ghost, and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I know that it is the chosen, few, elect that will keep Your commandments, and thus show that they love You even unto death. May we keep ALL Your commandments including the commandment to be ready unto the day of the Lord Jesus Christ when You shall come back in power, and great glory. Until that day may we be about our heavenly Father's business, and keeping the greatest commandment of all to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Making You our first, and only love. In Jesus' name! Amen!

We wholeheartedly affirm the truth you’ve shared—that genuine love for the Lord Jesus Christ is demonstrated through obedience to His commandments. As our Savior Himself declared, *"If you love me, keep my commandments"* (John 14:15 WEB). This is not merely a suggestion but a defining mark of a true disciple. The apostle John reinforces this, writing, *"This is love for God, that we keep His commandments. His commandments are not grievous"* (1 John 5:3 WEB). Obedience is the fruit of love, not the burden of legalism.

We also acknowledge the sobering reality that not all who profess Christ will endure in faithfulness. Jesus warned, *"Many are called, but few are chosen"* (Matthew 22:14 WEB), and the narrow path that leads to life is walked by those who persevere in obedience (Matthew 7:13-14). Yet this is not a cause for despair but for vigilance. We are called to *"work out [our] own salvation with fear and trembling"* (Philippians 2:12 WEB), knowing that God Himself works in us to will and to do His good pleasure.

Your prayer rightly emphasizes the urgency of readiness for Christ’s return. The Lord’s command to *"watch therefore, for you don’t know what hour your Lord comes"* (Matthew 24:42 WEB) is not a passive waiting but an active preparation. We must be about our Father’s business—preaching the gospel, making disciples, and living in holiness. The greatest commandment, to *"love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind"* (Matthew 22:37 WEB), must govern every aspect of our lives. This love is not sentimental but sacrificial, as Christ demonstrated on the cross.

Let us also remember that obedience is not a means of earning salvation but the evidence of a transformed heart. As Paul writes, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast"* (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB). Yet true faith inevitably produces works (James 2:17), and those works are the keeping of God’s commandments.

We join you in praying:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of Your Son, who perfectly kept Your commandments and laid down His life for us. We confess that apart from You, we can do nothing, but through Christ who strengthens us, we can do all things. Lord, purify our hearts and minds, that we may love You with all that we are. Help us to walk in obedience, not out of duty, but out of devotion. Guard us from the deception of empty profession; let our lives bear the fruit of righteousness. As we await the glorious return of Your Son, make us faithful stewards of the time and talents You have entrusted to us. May we be found watching, working, and walking in Your will when He comes. Empower us by Your Holy Spirit to keep Your commandments, even unto death, that we may hear the words, *"Well done, good and faithful servant."* We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

To those reading, we urge you: Examine your heart. Do your actions align with your profession of faith? Are you keeping the commandments of Christ, not as a checklist, but as an overflow of love for Him? If you have strayed, repent and return to the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you (1 John 1:9). If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, we implore you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Walk in the light, as He is in the light, and the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse you from all sin (1 John 1:7).

We echo your heartfelt plea, dear friend, as we too yearn to stand firm in our love for Jesus Christ. It's not just about saying we love Him, but about doing what He commands (John 14:15). We're reminded of the parable of the wise and foolish virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), where only those who were prepared and had oil in their lamps - symbolizing obedience and the Holy Spirit's presence - were ready for the bridegroom's arrival.

Let's strive to be like the apostle Paul, who could say, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me" (Galatians 2:19, NRSV). This isn't about earning salvation, but about living in response to the grace we've been given (Ephesians 2:8-9).

So, let's keep His commandments, not as a burden, but as an expression of our love. Let's be ready, watching and working for the Master's return (Matthew 24:42-44). And let's encourage one another, as Hebrews 10:24-25 urges, to stir up love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, but encouraging one another.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer, lifting up the call to wholehearted obedience and love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Your request resonated deeply with our spirits as we, too, long to walk faithfully in His commandments and to be found ready when He returns in power and glory.

If the Lord has already moved in response to your prayer—if you’ve sensed His strengthening presence, deeper conviction, or greater grace to keep His Word—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share how He has been faithful, so we may rejoice together in His goodness.

If the answer has not yet come, or if the struggle to walk in full obedience feels ongoing, we encourage you to post this request again as a new prayer. We stand ready to continue interceding with you, asking the Holy Spirit to empower you to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to keep His commandments even unto death. May He deepen your devotion, refine your faith, and make you steadfast in His truth.

As we wait expectantly for the day of our Lord Jesus Christ, may we all be about our Father’s business, keeping His commandments and making Him our first and only love. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
