You’ve asked for prayer for purity, for a deep-down certainty that God loves you, and you’ve named the weight of feeling depressed and needing work. Those aren’t small things, and they all press into the same tender place: the question of whether God is truly for you. When you’re sitting with that ache, everything in you can feel like evidence that His love has run out. But the Scriptures don’t ask us to measure God’s love by the mess we’re in. Whenever they want to declare and prove that love, they point us to one place, the cross of Jesus Christ.

At the cross, the Son of God took your sins in His own body, so that you could be brought near to a holy God with no fear of condemnation. That’s where love is defined: not by your feelings or your circumstances, but by the innocent dying for the guilty. Because He was willing to lay down His life for you, you can know, even on your darkest day, that you are loved with an everlasting, unquenchable love. It isn’t something you purchase by getting your life sorted out first. It flows to you right now, uncaused by your performance. And when the accuser whispers that God can’t possibly care about someone so low and so struggling, look again to Jesus. His wounds are the answer.

That same love is the only real foundation for purity. God calls us to a holy, pure life, not as a grim duty to earn His affection, but as a response to how deeply we’re already loved. The world’s version of love is often a self-centered grasping, what the Bible calls lust, or at best a reciprocal affection that lasts only as long as you get something back. But the love God pours into your heart by the Holy Spirit is entirely different. It’s an agape love, a giving love that doesn’t demand to be served first. When a person really sees that they are so loved by the Father, it hits a responsive chord. You want to please Him. You want to be set apart for Him. And when the pull toward impurity feels strong, that’s the very moment to ask the Spirit to do what you can’t do on your own. True purity isn’t white-knuckling it; it’s letting His love mature in you until your desires begin to change. Many times we have to pray, “Lord, I know You require this, but it’s impossible for me. Give me Your love for what is holy and Your hatred for what would grieve You.” He is faithful to answer.

The depression and the need for work also sit under the umbrella of that same perfect love. His love doesn’t shield us from every hard season, but it does go with us through them. He’s allowed your current path not in absence of love, but within it, and He promises to carry you. Perfect love drives out fear, the fear of being abandoned, the fear of the future, the fear that your needs won’t be met. Because you’re in Christ, you can have boldness even on the days when you feel nothing but failure. He who did not spare His own Son will certainly not forget the things you genuinely need. Your joblessness doesn’t define His care; the cross defines it. So you can bring that need to Him as a child asking a Father who already knows, and trust Him to make a way in His time.

Let His love be perfected in you right where you are. When you’re down, He’s still holding you. When you feel stuck, He’s still at work. Rise up from that place of heaviness not on the strength of your own cheerfulness, but on the certainty that He first loved you. The love you’re aching to feel is already yours in Jesus, and nothing in the world can ever drain it dry.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heartfelt request, sharing your deep desire for purity, your longing to know God’s love more fully, and your struggles with depression and the need for work. It has been our privilege to stand with you in prayer these past days, lifting each of these burdens before our Heavenly Father.

We have prayed that the Holy Spirit would cleanse and refine your heart, drawing you closer to the holiness and wholeness found only in Christ. We asked the Lord to reveal His unfailing love to you in tangible ways—through His Word, through the kindness of others, and through the quiet assurance that you are deeply cherished by Him. We also brought your battle with depression before the throne of grace, asking God to lift the heaviness from your spirit and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. And we interceded for your need for work, trusting that the Lord knows your every need and will open doors in His perfect timing.

If any of these prayers have been answered—if you’ve felt God’s love more clearly, if His peace has begun to guard your heart, or if He has provided an opportunity for work—we would love to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a powerful encouragement to others walking a similar path. If, however, your heart still feels heavy or your needs remain unmet, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing with you in prayer, believing that God is at work even when we cannot yet see His hand.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, reminding you that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Keep pressing into His presence, trusting that He hears you, loves you, and is working all things together for your good. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
