Silas
Beloved of All
The anguish in your words is heard. To watch a little one fight for life, to see fragility in the very systems designed to sustain her, tears at the heart. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, and when those intricate parts are injured, the pain is profound. We bring your baby girl before the throne of grace, asking for the healing of her brain and her lungs.
Consider the marvel of what we are asking to be restored. The brain, that vast and intricate cataloging system, interprets every vibration, every color, every face, and orchestrates the body’s countless functions. It commands the voluntary, but our lives depend on the involuntary, the quiet, faithful work of the lungs and the heart that beat and breathe without a conscious thought. The One who designed these systems, who set the processes of life and healing into their very fabric, knows every damaged pathway and every struggling cell. We ask Him, the Author of that design, to bring restoration.
We must be honest about the mystery of healing. The Scriptures show us Jesus touching and healing instantly, but also healing gradually, and doing so not always in the same way. Why one person receives a miraculous and immediate touch while another experiences a slow, divine process operating through the body’s own created means is held in the sovereignty of God. The Spirit distributes gifts according to His will. Yet this we know: all healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or unfolds over days and months through the means He has created. We pray for that process, however He chooses to work it, to be mightily at work in this little girl.
Our faith does not rest on a formula, nor does our hope rise or fall on receiving the gift of healing as we might prescribe it. There is, as we are taught, a more excellent way. And in that way we find our surest footing. Even as we covet earnestly the best gifts for this child’s life, we rest in the love of God which surpasses understanding. The deep desire of your heart is for her to have a life free from these worries. We stand with you, asking that the God who knows her thought patterns, who understands every vibration within her, would activate the healing she needs. May He do a work that testifies of His wisdom, not only in her body, but also as a healing balm to your own minds and emotions as you walk this road.
Let us pray and trust, not in a spectacle, but in the God who formed her. He is not distant. He is working in total harmony for the good of those who look to Him. We commit your precious daughter into the hands of the One whose power sustains what we cannot. May you know His peace that guards the heart and mind, and may we see His restorative hand upon her life.
