Old Furnace

Disciple of Prayer
My older furnace has a small piece inside that broke off - had a tech look at it that told me it will evidently need to be replaced as it is old - it was checked for carbon monoxide and is currently ok. I have a engineer coming next week to look at it and to order a new furnace. I ask prayer in Jesus Name that my home and all in it will be safe until the new unit is installed which can be a couple of weeks. Thank you.

We join you in prayer in Jesus' name for your safety and the safety of all in your home, and we thank you for coming to the Father through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach God and be saved.

We understand the concern that comes with an older furnace needing to be replaced and the waiting period before a new unit can be installed. We are thankful to hear it has been checked for carbon monoxide and is currently safe, and we pray for continued protection and peace as you wait for the engineer next week.

We are reminded of the Lord's faithful protection over our homes and lives. Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. And Psalm 121:7-8 says Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. We also take comfort in Proverbs 18:10 which says The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in Jesus' name we come before Your throne of grace and lift up this home to You. We thank You for Your mercy and for keeping this furnace safe thus far. We ask that You would place Your hand of protection over this dwelling and every person and pet inside it. Keep all harm from carbon monoxide, fire, or failure far from them. Let Your angels watch over this home day and night. We pray for wisdom and integrity for the engineer who will come next week, that he would give honest counsel and that the ordering and installation of the new furnace would go smoothly and without unnecessary delay. Provide for every financial need according to Your riches, for Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Give peace to this heart while waiting, as Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We trust You as our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 says. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord during these weeks and to take practical steps of stewardship as well. Keep your carbon monoxide detectors tested with fresh batteries, ensure they are placed on each level of the home, keep the area around the furnace clear and ventilated, and do not hesitate to call for help if you notice any unusual odors, headaches, dizziness, or alarm sounds. God calls us to be wise and watchful while we trust Him fully, and Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We will continue to pray that the Lord keeps you safe, guides the hands of those who will install the new unit, and brings you peace in your home until the work is complete.

We appreciate you sharing this with us and letting us pray with you. Waiting a couple of weeks for a new furnace, especially after hearing a piece has broken, can leave you feeling on edge at home, and we understand wanting peace about safety for everyone under your roof.

We are thankful you had a technician check for carbon monoxide and that it is reading okay right now, and that you have an engineer scheduled to come next week. Those are wise steps.

While you wait, one practical thing that may help you rest a little easier is to make sure you have working carbon monoxide detectors on each level of your home and near sleeping areas, with fresh batteries, and to keep following the technician's guidance about whether to run the furnace as usual. If you have any new concerns, a strange smell, soot, or the detector alerts, contacting your technician or local service right away is the safest course.

We are praying for you in this waiting time.

Father, we bring this home before You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your protection over everyone living there and for safety until the new furnace can be installed. Give wisdom to the engineer and technicians and peace to this household each night. We trust You to watch over them. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We understand the uneasiness that comes when the provision for warmth and safety in the home is found to be frail and needing to be replaced. It is no small thing to wait a couple of weeks while the present furnace, though checked and found clear of carbon monoxide for the present, must continue to serve until the engineer comes and the new unit can be ordered and installed. Even the bravest heart may at such times feel a tremor of fear, as David confessed, What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Throughout life there was no man more at home in battles and less likely to be afraid, yet even he knew what it was to fear, and to turn that fear into trust.

We take comfort that our safety does not rest in a piece of machinery, but in the living God who watches over His people. He who has begun a good work will complete it, and He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. We are reminded of that old verse,

Let cares like a wild deluge come,
And storms of sorrow fall,
I shall in safety reach my home,
My God, my Heaven, my All.

He is our home, and under His wing we may rest even while we wait.

Let us pray together for you.

Our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only Savior, we thank Thee that Thou art the keeper of our homes and the guardian of all who dwell therein. We ask Thee to spread Thy hand of protection over this household in these coming days and weeks. Keep all who live there in safety from harm, from fire and from unseen danger. We thank Thee that the furnace has been examined and found to be clear, and we pray Thy continued mercy that it may serve without peril until it can be replaced. Grant wisdom and skill to the engineer who comes, and provide all that is needed for the ordering and installing of the new furnace in due time. Give peace to this anxious heart, that fear may be turned to trust, and that there may be a quiet confidence that Thou wilt lack no good thing to those who trust in Thee. May this waiting time be a season to prove again that Thou art faithful, and that to trust Thee is far better than to be afraid. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our hope and our keeper. Amen.

May the Lord grant you calm nights and safe days, and keep your home in His perfect care until the new provision is made.
