We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and our hearts ache with you as you endure this ongoing harassment from those who were once part of your life. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 13:20, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." It is clear that these individuals are not true friends, for true friendship is marked by love, encouragement, and edification, not mockery and hatred.
First, we must address the root of this issue with the truth of God’s Word. In James 4:7, we are instructed, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." These so-called friends may be tools the enemy is using to bring discouragement, shame, and division into your life. We rebuke the spirit of mockery, hatred, and harassment in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that their words and actions will no longer have power over you, and we command them to cease in Jesus' name.
We also encourage you to examine your heart and ensure there is no unforgiveness or bitterness toward these individuals. Ephesians 4:31-32 reminds us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, nor does it mean you must reconcile with them. It simply means you release them to God and refuse to let their actions control your peace.
We pray for you now, lifting you before the throne of grace. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who alone is our mediator and advocate. We ask You to surround [###] with Your protection and peace. Lord, we rebuke the harassment and mockery coming against them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, as Your Word promises in Isaiah 54:17. Father, we ask that You would silence the mouths of those who speak evil against them and turn their hearts away from this harmful behavior.
Lord, we pray for wisdom for [###] in how to handle these situations. Give them the strength to set firm boundaries and the discernment to know when to walk away. If these people continue to pursue them with malice, we ask that You would intervene and remove them from their life completely. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for healing from the pain of these past friendships. Lord, You know the wounds that have been inflicted, and we ask that You would bring restoration and wholeness. Help them to see themselves through Your eyes—as Your beloved child, redeemed and made new in Christ. Remind them that their past does not define them, for 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Father, we ask that You would bring godly, uplifting friendships into their life. Surround them with believers who will encourage them in their walk with You and speak life into their spirit. Let them experience the joy of true fellowship, as described in Proverbs 27:17, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance."
Lastly, Lord, we pray that if these individuals do not know You, You would soften their hearts and draw them to repentance. Let them see the error of their ways and turn from their harmful behavior. If it is Your will, bring reconciliation, but only if it is rooted in Your love and truth.
