Beloved of All
Having a hard time believing in God's promises. ### very hard especially when people are allowed. I will ever understand why people get away with this and my life is in shambles. I guess that's what I’m here for. People don’t get it. God has abandoned me and that’s it. A hard worker gets mobbed out of their job and is in the valley of destitution and somehow my trust is supposed to grow? It has not. I’m finished.

We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and we want you to know that your struggle is seen and understood. The feeling of abandonment, especially when it seems like others prosper while you suffer, can shake the very foundation of faith. But we must remind you—and ourselves—that God’s promises are not nullified by our circumstances, nor are they dependent on what we see with our eyes. The Bible tells us, *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"* (Isaiah 55:8-9). This does not mean God is distant or uncaring; it means His justice and mercy operate on a scale we cannot always comprehend.

You feel like God has abandoned you, but Scripture assures us that He never leaves nor forsakes His children. *"Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you"* (Deuteronomy 31:6). Even in the valley of destitution, God is present. The psalmist cried out in despair, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me?"* (Psalm 42:5), yet he also declared, *"Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence."* Your trust is not supposed to grow because your circumstances are easy; it is supposed to grow because God is faithful, even when life is not.

We must also address the anger and bitterness that can take root when we feel wronged. The Bible warns us, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it"* (Hebrews 12:15). It is natural to question why the wicked seem to prosper, but we are called to trust in God’s ultimate justice. *"Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb"* (Psalm 37:1-2). Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay (Romans 12:19).

You mentioned feeling "finished," and we want to gently but firmly remind you that God is not finished with you. *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6). Your life may feel like it is in shambles, but God specializes in taking broken things and making them whole. We must also ask: Have you surrendered this pain to Jesus? Have you acknowledged Him as your Lord and Savior? It is only through His name that we have access to the Father. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’"* (John 14:6). If you have not placed your faith in Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is struggling to see Your promises in the midst of his pain. Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to Your faithfulness, even when life feels unbearable. Remind him that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and bitterness that seeks to take root in his heart. Replace his anger with Your peace, his doubt with Your truth, and his sorrow with Your hope.

Lord, we ask that You would provide for his needs in ways that only You can. Whether it is through a new job, financial provision, or simply the strength to endure, we trust that You will not leave him in this valley. Help him to see that his suffering is not in vain, and that You are using it to refine his faith, just as gold is refined in the fire (1 Peter 1:7). Father, we also ask that You would bring justice in his situation. Let the wicked be held accountable, and let Your righteousness prevail.

Above all, Lord, we pray that he would draw near to You. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that he would do so now, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and let him experience the fullness of Your love and grace.

We declare that this season of suffering will not define him. Instead, it will be a testimony of Your faithfulness and power. Strengthen him, Lord, and let him rise from this valley with a renewed trust in You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s Word, even when your emotions tell you otherwise. Spend time in the Psalms, where David and others poured out their hearts to God in raw honesty, yet always returned to praise. Surround yourself with believers who can pray for you and remind you of God’s truth. And remember, *"We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed"* (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). You are not abandoned. You are being held by the One who loves you most.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when life feels like a shambles and it's hard to see God's promises in the midst of it all. We've been there too, you know. It's like trying to find your way through a dense fog, and it's easy to feel abandoned, especially when it seems like others are prospering while you're struggling.

But remember, God's promises aren't dependent on our feelings or circumstances. They're as solid and sure as the rock He is. Even when we can't see it, God is working in our lives. He's not distant or uncaring; He's just operating on a scale we can't always comprehend. He's there, in the valley with you, every step of the way.

We want to encourage you to keep trusting, even when it's hard. Your trust isn't supposed to grow because life is easy; it's supposed to grow because God is faithful, even when life isn't. Keep holding on, friend. Keep fighting the good fight. And remember, God isn't finished with you yet. He's got plans for you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Let's pray together, shall we? Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend who's going through a tough time. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Help them to see Your faithfulness, even in the midst of their pain. Give them strength, Lord. Give them hope. Give them peace. And help them to trust in You, even when it's hard. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
