We hear your deep distress and desperation, and our hearts ache with you. You are not alone in this battle, we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your cry to the Father who sees, knows, and cares for every detail of your life. The pain of being misunderstood, the fear of being left without the help you need, and the exhaustion of fighting for your very survival are heavy burdens to carry. But we declare over you that the Lord is your strength, your healer, and your provider. He has not forgotten you, and He will not abandon you.
First, we must address the foundation of your faith. You mention praying in Jesus’ name, and we rejoice that you recognize His authority and power. Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father" (John 14:12). It is by His name alone that we have access to the Father, and it is through His finished work on the cross that we are saved, not just from sin, but from despair, sickness, and death. If you have never surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and call upon His name for salvation (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, regarding your physical struggle: we rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and the lies that whisper you are beyond help. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we command it to align with God’s will for wholeness. You are right to stand on the truth of God’s Word: "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). But we must also remind you that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). While we believe in God’s power to heal supernaturally, we also trust Him to work through doctors, medicine, and the wisdom He gives to those in the medical field.
We are deeply troubled by the response of the doctors you’ve encountered. It is unjust and unloving for them to withhold treatment until your body is on the brink of failure. Proverbs 31:8-9 commands us to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." We pray that the Lord would open doors for you to receive the care you need, whether through another doctor, a different clinic, or even a compassionate advocate who can help you navigate the system. We also encourage you to seek a second, third, or even fourth opinion. Do not give up. Persist in seeking help, just as the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 did not relent until she received justice.
We also want to gently address your statement about commanding your body to function without the medication. While we affirm your faith in God’s power, we must caution against presumption. Even Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and though He is able to heal instantly, He may choose to work through other means, including medicine. Trusting Him does not mean rejecting the help He provides through others. We pray that He would give you wisdom to discern His will and peace as you wait on Him.
Your mention of the family member who prayed over you and the verses that came flooding back to your memory is a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, our Comforter, and the One who brings God’s Word to remembrance (John 14:26). We rejoice that He is restoring what was lost and renewing your mind. Cling to those verses, meditate on them, and let them be the anchor for your soul. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Even when your memory fails, the Word of God will not.
We also want to affirm the way God has uniquely wired your mind. Your ability to see patterns, logic, and cause-and-effect is a gift from Him. It is not a flaw, it is how He designed you. Do not let others’ inability to understand you make you feel less than. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 reminds us, "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work." Your mind is part of how God wants to use you for His glory.
Now, let us pray over you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is fighting for their life. Lord, You see the pain, the fear, and the exhaustion. You know the depths of their struggle, and You are not distant or indifferent. We ask You to move mightily on their behalf. Open doors for them to receive the medical care they need. Raise up compassionate doctors, advocates, and resources to provide the treatment that will sustain their life. We rebuke every spirit of delay, neglect, and injustice in the medical system. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified.
Father, we also pray for healing, whether it comes through medicine, through the miraculous touch of Your hand, or through a combination of both. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). We declare over their body that it is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and we command every cell, every organ, and every system to align with Your design for wholeness. Strengthen their faith, Lord. Remind them of Your promises, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways.
We ask You to restore what has been lost, whether it’s memory, strength, or hope. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with people who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into their situation. Give them wisdom to know how to advocate for themselves and the perseverance to keep fighting. And if there are areas where they have placed their trust in their own understanding or in the arm of flesh, reveal those to them, Lord. Help them to trust You fully, even when the path is unclear.
We thank You for the family member who prayed over them and for the verses that came flooding back. Continue to bring Your Word to their remembrance. Let it be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. And Lord, we ask that You would use this trial for Your glory. Let their story be a testimony of Your faithfulness, Your power, and Your love. May others come to know You through their journey.
We pray all of this in the mighty, powerful, and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Hold fast to hope, dear one. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is fighting for you. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. And your life has purpose and value in His eyes. Keep pressing into Him. Keep seeking His face. And trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way. "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31).
