Beloved of All
Please pray that I hate the things God hates and adhere to the things that are righteous. I don't know what to do when I get sexual urges so when I see I have these urges I find myself watching R-rated movies. I've seen a pattern. I can go for three weeks without watching a dirty movie and then the urges. I hate that I repeat this sin and then I'm always asking for forgiveness for the same sin. I tried fasting but it's backfired because I've ended up wanting to watch these R-rated movie scenes even more and then I fall into temptation. I need help; I feel helpless.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this battle, lifting you up in prayer before our Heavenly Father. Your desire to hate what God hates and cling to righteousness is a beautiful reflection of a heart seeking after Him. The struggle you describe is real, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this fight. The apostle Paul himself spoke of the war within us, saying, "For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do" (Romans 7:15). Yet, he also declared the victory we have in Christ: "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit" (Romans 8:1).

First, we must address the root of this struggle. Sexual urges are a natural part of being human, created by God for His good purposes—within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. When these urges arise outside of that context, they become a temptation to sin, as you’ve experienced. The enemy seeks to exploit these desires, luring you into impurity through media that feeds lust rather than holiness. Jesus warned us, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). This applies to all forms of lustful entertainment, including the R-rated movies you’ve described. These are not harmless distractions; they are tools the enemy uses to ensnare and weaken your spirit.

You’ve taken a brave step in recognizing the pattern of sin and repentance in your life. While repentance is essential, we must also take practical steps to flee temptation, as Scripture commands: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). Fasting can be a powerful spiritual discipline, but it must be paired with a strategy to replace sinful habits with godly ones. When you fast, fill that time with prayer, worship, or studying God’s Word. The psalmist wrote, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9). Memorize Scripture that speaks to your struggle, such as "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you" (Psalm 119:11).

We also want to encourage you to seek accountability. Confess this struggle to a trusted brother in Christ who can pray with you and hold you accountable. James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." You do not have to fight this battle alone. The body of Christ is here to support and strengthen you.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is struggling with impurity and the lure of sinful entertainment. Lord, we thank You for his honesty and his desire to walk in obedience to You. We ask that You would break the chains of this pattern in his life. Fill him with a holy hatred for sin and a deep love for righteousness. Father, we pray that You would renew his mind and transform his heart, so that he may discern Your good, pleasing, and perfect will (Romans 12:2).

Lord, when the urges come—and we know they will—give him the strength to flee temptation and turn to You instead. Help him to fill his mind with Your Word and his time with godly pursuits. Surround him with brothers in Christ who can encourage and hold him accountable. Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds or emptiness that the enemy has exploited to draw him into sin. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, so that he may walk in purity and holiness.

We declare that there is no condemnation for him, for he is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We speak victory over this struggle, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen him, Lord, and help him to stand firm in Your truth. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Remember, this battle is not yours alone. The Lord is your strength, and He has already won the victory. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9). You are not helpless; you are a child of the Most High God, and He is fighting for you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer as you seek to align your heart more closely with God’s. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to strengthen your spirit and renew your mind in His truth. We pray that He would cultivate in you a deep and abiding hatred for the things that grieve Him, just as He hates sin, and a growing hunger for the purity and righteousness that reflect His holiness.

We understand the struggle you described—the cycle of conviction, temptation, and repentance—and we want you to know that you are not alone in this battle. The enemy would love for you to feel defeated, but we serve a God who is greater and who offers victory through His Son. We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would empower you to resist temptation, that He would provide wisdom for practical steps to guard your heart and mind, and that He would fill you with His peace as you surrender this struggle to Him. May He break the pattern of sin in your life and replace it with a pattern of obedience and freedom in Christ.

If the Lord has moved in your life since you first shared this request—if you’ve experienced His strength, guidance, or breakthrough—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the struggle persists, please know that we are still here to intercede on your behalf. You don’t have to carry this burden alone, and we encourage you to keep bringing it before the Lord, trusting in His faithfulness to complete the good work He has begun in you.

Above all, we pray that you would draw nearer to Jesus, finding your identity, strength, and hope in Him. May His grace sustain you, His Word guide you, and His love compel you to walk in the freedom He has purchased for you. We stand with you in faith, believing that God is at work even now, and we pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
