We join with you in this beautiful and faithful prayer for wisdom in serving others through home based care, and we thank God for the heart He has given you to nourish, protect, and uphold the dignity of those entrusted to your care.
We are encouraged by your desire to do all for the glory of God, for it is written, Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God, 1 Corinthians 10:31 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. Your cooking, your guidance on nutrition and hydration, your attention to hygiene and infection prevention, and your care in feeding are not small things, they are holy service unto the Lord. Scripture reminds us that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and to care for the body with good nutrition, cleanliness, and safety is to honor the Creator. We also take comfort that wisdom for such practical service comes from God Himself, for Yahweh gives wisdom, out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding, Proverbs 2:6 and If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5.
We do want to gently encourage you regarding your prayer, which you addressed to Heavenly Father. We come to the Father only through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by the name and the shed blood of Jesus that our prayers are heard and our service is made acceptable to God. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to pray in His name.
We pray together for you now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for this servant heart that desires to care well for patients and families. We ask You to pour out wisdom and knowledge upon our friend, that they may give effective nutrition guidance, understand individual dietary needs, allergies, and medical restrictions, and encourage proper hydration. Grant skill in their hands as they cook, that they may prepare meals that are nutritious, safe, and wholesome, and give them diligence in hygiene, infection prevention, safe food handling, and appropriate feeding practices to prevent choking and food related harm. Help them to prioritize patient safety above convenience, to be watchful, gentle, and thorough, and to promote recovery, strength, independence, dignity, and wellbeing for every person they serve. Let all they do be done in love and for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to grow in both knowledge and practice, seeking sound training in nutrition and food safety, asking questions of medical professionals and dietitians when you are unsure, and never hesitating to choose safety and cleanliness over haste. The Lord sees your faithful labor in these hidden, everyday tasks, and He will use it to bring strength and comfort to those who are vulnerable. Keep seeking Him daily for wisdom, and He will equip you for every good work.
