The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, "Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him." Your doubt does not disqualify you from His love; in fact, it may be the very thing that leads you back to Him if you allow it. The "equally yoked" principle you mention is not meant to be a burden, but a protection—God’s design for unity in faith is so that believers can encourage one another in truth and love (2 Corinthians 6:14). But even if you feel far from Him, remember that Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He is not a God who waits for you to have it all together; He meets you in your brokenness.
We also want to lovingly challenge the idea that atheism is a place of freedom. Psalm 14:1 says, "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'" This is not a condemnation of your intellect, but a warning that rejecting God leaves a void that nothing else can fill. The world offers temporary distractions, but only Christ offers eternal peace. If you are walking away because of hurt, disappointment, or unanswered questions, we urge you to bring those things to Him—not as accusations, but as honest cries of your heart. He can handle your anger, your confusion, and your doubt.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who is struggling with faith. Lord, You see the pain and the questions that have led him to this place, and we ask that You would meet him in his doubt. Soften his heart to Your truth, and reveal Yourself to him in ways he cannot ignore. Remind him that You are not a distant God, but One who pursues him even now. Break down the walls of pride or hurt that may be keeping him from You, and replace them with a hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Surround him with believers who can speak life into his situation, and give him the courage to seek answers in Your truth rather than walking away. We declare that he is not beyond Your reach, and we ask that You would draw him back to Yourself. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
