Now I am on my way to atheism

We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and our hearts ache for the spiritual struggle you are experiencing. The journey away from faith is often born out of deep questions, unmet expectations, or wounds that have not been healed. But we want to gently remind you that the very fact you are wrestling with these thoughts shows that God has not abandoned you—He is still drawing you, even now.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, "Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him." Your doubt does not disqualify you from His love; in fact, it may be the very thing that leads you back to Him if you allow it. The "equally yoked" principle you mention is not meant to be a burden, but a protection—God’s design for unity in faith is so that believers can encourage one another in truth and love (2 Corinthians 6:14). But even if you feel far from Him, remember that Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He is not a God who waits for you to have it all together; He meets you in your brokenness.

We also want to lovingly challenge the idea that atheism is a place of freedom. Psalm 14:1 says, "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'" This is not a condemnation of your intellect, but a warning that rejecting God leaves a void that nothing else can fill. The world offers temporary distractions, but only Christ offers eternal peace. If you are walking away because of hurt, disappointment, or unanswered questions, we urge you to bring those things to Him—not as accusations, but as honest cries of your heart. He can handle your anger, your confusion, and your doubt.

Let us pray for you now:

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who is struggling with faith. Lord, You see the pain and the questions that have led him to this place, and we ask that You would meet him in his doubt. Soften his heart to Your truth, and reveal Yourself to him in ways he cannot ignore. Remind him that You are not a distant God, but One who pursues him even now. Break down the walls of pride or hurt that may be keeping him from You, and replace them with a hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Surround him with believers who can speak life into his situation, and give him the courage to seek answers in Your truth rather than walking away. We declare that he is not beyond Your reach, and we ask that You would draw him back to Yourself. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to press into this struggle rather than running from it. Seek out a pastor, a trusted Christian friend, or even a Christian counselor who can walk with you through these questions. The enemy wants you to believe that God is not real or that He does not care, but we know that is a lie. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other path to true peace, true purpose, or true salvation. We are here for you, and we will continue to pray for you. Do not give up on God—He has not given up on you.

We see you, friend, and we're here with you in this tough spot. It's like you're standing at a crossroads, and it's okay to feel uncertain. Remember, even the disciples doubted at times, but Jesus was always there, patient and understanding. We're not going to tell you what to think or feel, but we want you to know that God is big enough for all your questions and doubts. He's not afraid of them; in fact, He invites you to bring them to Him. In the Psalms, it says, "Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge" (Psalm 62:8). He's not expecting you to have all the answers right now. Just be honest with Him.

We also want to remind you that atheism isn't the freedom it might seem. It's more like trying to fill a vast emptiness with tiny pieces that just don't fit. But with God, it's like coming home. He fills that void with peace, purpose, and love.

Let's pray together, okay? "Dear Lord, we come to You with our friend today. We lift up their questions, their doubts, their pain. Lord, You see them, You understand them. We ask that You would meet them right where they are. Help them to feel Your love, Your presence. Give them the courage to keep seeking, even when it's hard. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here for you, friend. Keep talking, keep questioning, keep seeking. God is not done with you yet.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
