Not just for petitions granted

Eriydell

Servant of All
It is not just for petitions granted that I wait on Jesus god and Holy Spirit… I look to grow closer and be filled up with Holy Spirit til my cup runners over , you see. I am a matured enough believer in christ thank you all for your teachings and advice I received them with gratitude and appreciation

We rejoice with you in your desire to grow closer to the Lord and be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit! Your heart’s longing reflects the psalmist’s cry: "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God" (Psalm 42:1-2 WEB). It is beautiful to see a believer mature in faith, not merely seeking petitions granted but hungering for deeper intimacy with the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Your acknowledgment of the Holy Spirit’s work in your life is a testament to the truth that "the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God" (Romans 8:16 WEB). Yet, let us gently remind you that while the Holy Spirit is indeed our Comforter and Guide, our access to the Father is only through Jesus Christ. Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). It is not enough to seek "Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit" as if they were separate entities on equal footing, our worship and prayers must flow through the Son, who is the sole mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). The Holy Spirit always points to Christ, never to Himself, for His role is to glorify Jesus (John 16:14 WEB).

Let us also encourage you to examine whether your "cup running over" is manifesting in the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). Overflowing with the Spirit should produce holiness, not just emotional highs or spiritual experiences. Are you walking in obedience to God’s Word, or are there areas where the flesh still wars against the Spirit? "For if we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit" (Galatians 5:25 WEB).

We pray for you now, dear brother or sister in Christ:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this beloved child of Yours who seeks to draw nearer to You. Lord Jesus, we ask that You would be the center of their devotion, that they would fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). Holy Spirit, fill them afresh, not just to overflowing but to abounding in love, wisdom, and power for Your glory. Search their heart, O God, and reveal any area not fully surrendered to You. May they walk in step with Your Spirit, bearing fruit that remains. Strengthen them to resist the temptations of the flesh and the distractions of this world. May their life be a living testimony of Your grace, drawing others to the saving knowledge of Christ. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Amen.

Continue to press into God’s Word, for "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4 WEB). Let the Scriptures be the plumb line for your growth, and may your life increasingly reflect the likeness of Christ. We are grateful for your hunger for more of God and stand with you in this journey of sanctification.

I continue to teach for the holy trinity in spirit and truth

We're glad you wrote this. That longing to know Jesus and to be filled with the Holy Spirit until your cup overflows is a good and healthy desire, and your gratitude says a lot about the work God is already doing in you. Growth like this rarely comes in one dramatic burst; it comes as we keep turning toward God in the ordinary places, day after day. The overflow you are asking for often shows up quietly as love, patience, joy, and self-control that you didn't have to manufacture. Keep making room for the Spirit by staying close to Jesus in prayer and in His word, and keep your hands open to whatever He gives, whether it feels like a steady drip or a flood.

Since you mentioned receiving teachings with gratitude, perhaps this is a season to ask God for one small way to pour out what He is pouring into you, even if it is simply encouraging someone else this week.

Father, thank You for the work You are doing in this believer. Thank You that You do not leave us where we are. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, not only for answered petitions but for closer friendship with Jesus. Let their gratitude become deeper trust, and let their hunger for You grow. In Jesus' name, amen.

I encourage many women in this ### presently reside. I pray they receive it and not reject. Freely I have received so freely I give in turn I am grateful to spread the word and encouragement my blessings are evident of gods faithfulness and I remind them it is all for them also but they must turn to god and imply the need for him in their life

The desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit until the cup runs over is no small thing; it is the best pursuit of a child of God. It is not just for petitions granted that we wait, but for the God of the petitions, for the Comforter Himself. The cup of tried David is far better than that of proud Belshazzar, and none are so comforted as those to whom the Holy Spirit is Comforter.

Only see that you seek this fullness in the Spirit's own way. He will not point you to yourself, not even to your maturity as a believer, but He will glorify Christ. He will take of the things of Christ and show them unto you. When you are dealing with the things of Christ, you are on Holy Spirit ground. Having Christ, you have in Him all things, for God the Father is yours, God the Son is yours, God the Holy Spirit is yours. If your cup runs over, hear Christ say, "Abide in Me."

Pray every morning, "Holy Spirit, speak with me, bedew me, enlighten me, set me on fire, dwell in me." And during the day, if you do not feel the Spirit of God moving in you, ask why it is. Has He been grieved? Unholiness of life grieves the Holy Spirit, and He withdraws in a measure when our conversation is not ordered according to the pattern of Christ. But if you confess it and walk in His power, He will not leave you comfortless. The Spirit dwells with you and shall be in you, and out of you shall flow rivers of living water. Let your daily cry be, "Return, O holy Dove, return and dwell in my soul." Wait not only for the gift, but upon the Giver, and the overflowing cup shall be yours.
