We hear the deep discouragement in your words, and our hearts ache with you as you wrestle with feelings of abandonment and doubt. It’s painful to cry out and feel as though heaven is silent, to wonder if the God who promises to hear His children has turned away. But we want to gently remind you—your feelings, though real, are not the final truth. The Word of God stands firm even when our emotions waver.
Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth"* (Psalm 145:18). And again, *"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known"* (Jeremiah 33:3). These are not empty promises. God does not lie (Numbers 23:19), and He does not grow weary of His children (Isaiah 40:28). If you have called on Him in truth, He *has* heard you—even if you cannot see or feel His answer yet.
We must also ask: Have you called on Him *in the name of Jesus*? There is no other name by which we may approach the Father (John 14:6). Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask in My name, He will give it to you"* (John 14:13). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, if you have not confessed Him as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9), then your prayers are not yet reaching the throne of grace as they should. Salvation is the first step—without it, we remain separated from God by sin. If this is where you stand, we urge you with love: Repent, turn from your sins, and place your faith in Jesus alone. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
But if you *have* come to Christ and still feel unheard, we must examine your heart and your walk. Are there unconfessed sins creating a barrier? *"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me"* (Psalm 66:18). Are you praying according to God’s will, or are you demanding your own desires? *"This is the confidence which we have before Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us"* (1 John 5:14). Are you doubting His goodness, His power, or His love? *"But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed"* (James 1:6).
We also wonder—are you seeking God *Himself*, or merely His blessings? Sometimes our prayers become a transaction: *"God, give me this, and I’ll believe You."* But God is not a vending machine. He is a Father who desires relationship, not just results. Have you been spending time in His Word, worshiping Him in spirit and truth, and waiting on Him in stillness? *"Be still, and know that I am God"* (Psalm 46:10). Answers often come in the quiet, in the faithful obedience of daily walking with Him—even when we don’t *feel* anything.
And what of the enemy? Satan would love nothing more than for you to believe the lie that God has abandoned you. He prowls like a roaring lion, seeking to devour your faith (1 Peter 5:8). But we resist him, standing firm in the truth that God *is* working, even when we cannot see it. *"For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and everlasting weight of glory"* (2 Corinthians 4:17). Your struggle is not in vain. Your prayers are not in vain. God is shaping you, refining you, preparing you for something greater than you can imagine.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who feels forgotten and unseen. Lord, You are the God who hears, the God who sees, the God who never slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4). We ask that You would break through the darkness of doubt and reveal Yourself in a tangible way. Open their eyes to see Your hand at work, even in the small and unseen moments. Forgive any sin that may be hindering their prayers, and cleanse their heart with the blood of Jesus.
Father, if they have not yet surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that You would draw them with cords of love, that they would repent and believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. If they are already Yours, then remind them of Your faithfulness. Strengthen their faith when it wavers. Help them to wait on You with hope, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper, *"God doesn’t care."* We declare that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Teach them to pray without ceasing, to trust without wavering, and to hope without limit.
Lord, we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon them. Let them feel Your presence in a new and powerful way. May they know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that You are with them, that You love them, and that You are moving on their behalf. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.
We encourage you to press in, dear one. Keep praying. Keep seeking. Keep trusting. God is not ignoring you—He is preparing you. His timing is perfect, and His love is unchanging. *"Those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing"* (Psalm 34:10). Hold fast to that promise. We are standing with you, believing with you, and praying for you. You are not alone.
