We hear your cry and we stand with you right now in this hour, agreeing together for your healing and for your lungs to be cleared and opened in Jesus' name. We know how weary and frightening it must be to have spent five days in the hospital for breathing treatments, to have been hospitalized five times, and now to be battling this tightness in your chest and this mucus cough while also living with an autoimmune illness and taking very strong immunosuppressants. We are lifting you up together before our Father who sees your suffering and knows your body intimately.

We take comfort in what Scripture tells us about our God as healer. Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:5. For we know that he sent his word and healed them Psalm 107:20 and that Jesus himself took our infirmities and bore our diseases Matthew 8:17. We also cling to His promise, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, by whose blood we have access to Your throne of grace. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon our dear one now. Lord, we command this bronchitis to flee from this body and we ask You to loosen this mucus, to open the airways, to relieve this tightness in the chest and to stop this cough. We pray against pneumonia and against any further infection or complication, and we ask You to protect lungs that have already endured so much. Lord, You know the autoimmune illness and the need for immunosuppressants that leave this body more vulnerable, so we ask for Your divine protection over the immune system and for wisdom for every doctor and nurse providing care. We pray for complete restoration of breathing, for restful sleep without coughing, for strength to return, and for Your peace to guard heart and mind through this trial. We pray for a miracle of healing that testifies to Your power and mercy, and we ask that Your will be done, trusting that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our healer and Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord while also faithfully stewarding the medical help He has provided. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:14-15. Keep seeking Him in prayer and fasting as you are led, but also keep following the instructions of your physicians, taking your prescribed treatments, getting rest and fluids, and seeking care quickly if breathing worsens, for the Lord often works through the wisdom He gives to medical hands. We thank God that you have cried out to Jesus, for there is power and authority in His name alone, and we will continue to agree with you for this cough to cease and for your lungs to be clear and strong again. May the Lord strengthen you day by day and keep you from getting sicker, and may His healing and comfort be evident to you in this hour.

We are praying with you for relief and for healing.

Living with repeated illness can leave you feeling fragile and on edge, watching every cough. Recovery from bronchitis especially while your immune system is suppressed often takes time and steady monitoring, so please keep close contact with your medical team as you heal. If that tightness worsens, your cough changes, or you feel more short of breath, reach out to them right away alongside prayer, and let someone near you know how you are doing so you are not carrying this alone. Rest as you are able and follow the discharge care they gave you.

We are asking God to meet you in this hour of need.

Father, we lift our brother/sister to You in Jesus' name. You see this tight chest and persistent cough and the exhaustion of so many hospital stays. We ask for Your mercy and healing touch, for eased breathing and rest, for wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for them, and for protection from further infection. Give peace in place of fear and strength for each day. We trust them to Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry in this hour of tightness of chest and wearying cough has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace to seek the Lord who heals.

We have marked your suffering, five days lately in hospital with breathing treatments, and five times before brought low, and now this bronchitis that labors your breathing with mucus, while you walk under the burden of an autoimmune illness and strong medicines that suppress your strength. How natural it is that the body should cry out for ease, and how gracious that we have a Savior to whom we may cry.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His common mercies, His lesser blessings, are full of virtue, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction by our Lord. When Jesus healed the man taken with the palsy He first said, Your sins are forgiven you, to show that from a pardoning God all other mercies flow.

We therefore come to the great Physician who healed all that had need of healing while He sojourned here, and whose costly balm has lost none of its power. None shall say to the healing flood of His love, thus far and no further, for the utmost length of human sickness can be reached by Him. Have unstaggering confidence in the Divine Healer.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, we come through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Look upon this afflicted one, whose lungs are oppressed and whose cough is sore. Thou knowest the tightness of the chest, the mucus that hinders breath, the weakness that follows many hospital days. Lay Thy hand upon the lungs and airways, we beseech Thee. Clear what is congested, calm what is inflamed, open the breathing passages, stay the cough, and in Thy mercy forbid that it should turn to pneumonia or to any deeper sickness. Thou art He who sustains our lives moment by moment, for if Thou should withdraw Thy power we crumble into weakness, and by Thy power we are held up. Sustain now, we pray Thee.

We ask for wisdom for those who give care, that breathing treatments and all lawful means may be blessed to recovery. Guard this body made more vulnerable by immunosuppressants, and keep it from further infection. Grant sleep without coughing, breath without labor, and strength returning day by day. And as Thou dost try Thy children again and again for their good, let this trial be attended with a wonderful sense of Thy love, that even in weakness the heart may say, I know my Redeemer liveth and loveth me.

We thank Thee that healing and pardon come together in Christ. Grant a settled peace in the forgiveness of sins through faith in Him, and from that pardoning hand let healing flow as Thou wilt, according to Thy perfect and sovereign will. We ask not upon our own authority, but upon the authority and merit of Jesus, whose leaves are for healing. Do as seemeth good in Thy sight, yet we plead for mercy, for ease, for restoration.

We agree together in prayer and fasting as Thou hast moved us, and we leave this beloved sufferer in Thy tender keeping. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be glorified in body and soul.
