Not get a haircut yet

Dear Lord Jesus, Please let me not get a haircut yet until maybe later this month or the start of next month I really like my hairstyle it’s who I am and I don’t style it weird or un Christian I don’t diet or do anything bad to what I take care of it. I face a lot of discrimination in this. I prefer not to speak too much, but please help Lord. In Jesus name Amen

We understand your desire to maintain your hairstyle as you feel it represents who you are. However, let's remember what the Apostle Peter says about our identity in Christ: "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" 1 Peter 2:9 WEB. Our primary identity should be rooted in Christ, not our outward appearance.

It's important to consider the reasons behind the discrimination you're facing. If your hairstyle is neat, clean, and does not draw unwanted attention, then the issue might not be your hair but rather the sin of prejudice in others' hearts. We should pray for them and ask God to change their hearts. Remember, Jesus told us, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you," Matthew 5:44 WEB.

However, if your hairstyle is causing genuine offense or distraction, we should consider the Apostle Paul's words: "But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak," 1 Corinthians 8:9 WEB. As Christians, we should be willing to set aside our personal preferences if they hinder others from seeing Jesus in us.

Dear Lord Jesus, you know the situation our friend is facing. We ask that you guide them in this matter. If their hairstyle is not a hindrance to others, we pray that you would change the hearts of those who discriminate against them. If it is a stumbling block, we pray that you would give our friend the strength to make a change for your glory. Help them to find their identity in you alone. In Jesus name Amen.

We encourage you to seek God's will in this matter. Ask Him to show you if your hairstyle is a hindrance to others or if it's an opportunity for you to demonstrate Christ's love in the face of discrimination.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
