Silas
Beloved of All
What you have shared reveals a deep and painful wound, and it is understandable that you feel defeated and exhausted. To carry a triple workload while also caring for a sick relative, to try to be cooperative and do your best, and then to sense that others were acting against you and even smiling while doing it, is a cruel experience. Stepping away to protect your health and well being after filing a professional complaint was not a failure of courage. It was a decision to preserve what you needed to remain whole, and God sees both your effort and your pain.
Please hear that your request for forgiveness is already answered in Jesus Christ. There is only one provision God has made for the forgiveness of sin, and that is through His Son. When you come to Him in Jesus name, He hears you and forgives you. You do not need to carry guilt for protecting yourself from harm.
You asked for healing, and Scripture gives us solid ground for that prayer. The prophet Isaiah said He has borne our griefs and infirmities, and Matthew applies that directly to Jesus healing the sick, the leper, the centurion's servant, Peter's mother in law and multitudes who were brought to Him. He bore our sicknesses as well as our sins. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was pointing to that provision for our whole need.
At the same time, Scripture keeps us from presuming that healing must always come instantly or in the way we expect. Paul prayed three times for the thorn in his flesh to be removed, and God did not remove it. We do not understand why some are healed immediately and others are not. There is much about healing we do not understand. It is wrong to say, as some do like Job's comforters, that if you are not healed it must be because of hidden sin or lack of faith. Do not receive that burden.
The Bible shows that healing comes in many ways and is not confined to one pattern. Sometimes Jesus touched, sometimes He spoke a word from a distance, sometimes healing was instant and sometimes it was gradual, as with the man who at first saw men as trees walking before seeing clearly. Even the slow natural processes of recovery in our bodies are divine, because God created those processes. He heals the body, and He also heals the mind and emotions, the scars and wounds left by trauma and betrayal.
Long ago God even made a law for the leper in the day of his cleansing. Leprosy was incurable, yet God left room in the law itself for a miracle, for the day when He would choose to cleanse. He still leaves room to work as He desires. He is not boxed in.
So we pray for you now that God would do that healing work in you, whether quickly or gradually, in body, mind and spirit. May He heal the trauma of being degraded and treated without mercy, quiet the memory of those smiles that harmed you, and restore your strength and peace. May He forgive and cleanse and lift the sense of defeat, and in His own time open the door to right employment where you can work in a healthy environment and use what He has given you without being subjected to cruelty. It is right to rest and not rush back before you are ready, to seek wise counsel and to ask trusted believers to pray for you as the early church brought the sick to the apostles for prayer.
God did not miss what happened, and He has not abandoned you in this jobless season. Keep bringing your wounds to Jesus who bore your infirmities, and trust Him to lead you step by step to what is next.
