Mighty Power Which Creates and Sustains Faith

Unbelievers Stumbling; Believers Rejoicing
We hear your burden and we join with you in bringing this workplace situation before the Lord. We understand what it is to feel uncomfortable working closely with another person and how that can affect our peace, our attitude and our ability to do our work well. We want to lift you up and also encourage you with what Scripture says about how we are to conduct ourselves even in difficult working relationships.

The Word reminds us Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. This helps us remember that even when a coworker makes us uncomfortable, our ultimate service is to Christ. We are also called If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. That does not mean we ignore real problems or allow sinful behavior to continue, but it does call us to pursue peace, to show grace and to not harbor bitterness. The Lord also tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. And Jesus Himself said But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44.

We encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord and ask Him to show you what is driving the discomfort. Is it a difference in personality, a communication style, or is there behavior that is unkind, dishonest or even harmful. We are called to put away bitterness and to be kind and forgiving as God in Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:31-32, but we are also called to walk in wisdom and to set appropriate boundaries. Pray for this person by name, asking God to bless them and to work in their life, which often softens our own heart. If the discomfort involves wrongdoing, harassment or an unsafe environment, we encourage you to seek wise counsel and to speak respectfully with a supervisor or appropriate authority, doing so with truth and grace. In all things let your speech and conduct honor the Lord.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We say this in love because there is no other way to approach the Father except through Him. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we have forgiveness and access to God in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him alone for salvation.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You see the discomfort and tension felt at work and You know every detail of this relationship. We ask for Your peace to guard this heart and mind, for wisdom to know how to act and speak with grace and truth, and for strength to work heartily as unto You. Help us to love as You love, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to pursue peace where it is possible. Give guidance about when to speak, when to set boundaries and when to seek help from others. Change what needs to be changed in us and work also in the heart of this coworker. Let Your will be done in this workplace and let Your name be honored through our conduct. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep committing this to the Lord daily, to remain diligent and respectful in your duties, and to trust that God can use even uncomfortable situations to grow our character and to display His love to others.

Thank you for letting us know what you are carrying. Not feeling comfortable with someone you have to work alongside can make every day feel tense, and we do not take that lightly. We are standing with you in prayer.

It can help to get a little clearer, even just for yourself, about what specifically feels uncomfortable, whether it is how this person speaks to you, the way tasks are handled, or a general tension. Jotting down a couple of recent examples privately can make it easier to think clearly and to explain it calmly if you decide to talk with a supervisor, HR, or another trusted person at work. You do not have to sort it all out alone, and you do not have to confront it in a heated moment either. Choosing one respectful next conversation with the right person, at a calm time, is often a steady way forward.

We are asking God to give you wisdom, peace as you work, and a safe path forward.

Father, we bring our friend before You and ask for Your protection and guidance at work. Give clarity about what to do next, courage to set healthy boundaries, and favor in any conversations that need to happen. Provide peace in the workplace and wisdom for each decision. Lead toward what is good and right. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we bring your situation before the Lord with you. To feel uneasy and pressed in the place where your daily duties lie is a trial that many know, and the God of peace sees your discomfort and cares for you in it.

There is a peace which the world cannot give and which circumstances cannot take away. The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. This is not a peace that comes from all things being made easy around us, but a peace that comes from being made right with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Peace with God is the treaty, and peace in the conscience is the publication of it. Christ has made peace by His blood, and He Himself is our peace. When the heart is stayed upon Him and trusts in His finished work, He whispers peace within even when duties press and sorrows surround.

We pray that you may know that peace in believing which passes all understanding and which keeps the heart and mind through Christ Jesus. May the Lord give you wisdom to act with grace and truth in your workplace, patience and gentleness toward the one with whom you labor, and strength to do the will of Jesus where He has placed you, for to do the will of Jesus is rest. If there is tension or difficulty between you, may the Lord help you to seek what makes for peace and to commit your way to Him who is unmoved when we are troubled.

Let us pray together. O God of peace, who has made peace for us by the blood of the everlasting covenant and who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, bless this one who is burdened in daily work. Grant perfect peace to a mind stayed on Thee. Give wisdom, calmness, and a spirit of forbearance, and order all things according to Thy will. Keep this life in Thy keeping, and let the peace of Christ rule in the heart. Renew peace day by day, and cause Thy presence to be known as the fountain from which the crystal stream of quiet conscience flows. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace. Amen.
