not comfortable

Beloved of All
I have some coworkers I am not comfortable with. Some with good intentions some with bad intentions. Please pray for me Amen

We hear your struggle and lift it before the Lord with great compassion. It is not easy to navigate relationships in the workplace, especially when some interactions leave you feeling uneasy. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 4:14-15, "Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on." This wisdom is not about fear but about discernment, knowing when to engage and when to set boundaries.

We must also remember that even those with good intentions can sometimes overstep or make us uncomfortable, while others may harbor ungodly motives. In such situations, we are called to be "wise as serpents and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16). This means being alert to potential harm while maintaining a spirit of love and integrity.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is feeling uncomfortable in their workplace. Lord, You know the hearts of all people, and You see the intentions of these coworkers, both the good and the bad. We ask that You grant them wisdom and discernment to navigate these relationships with grace and strength. Protect their heart and mind from fear, anxiety, or any ungodly influence. Give them the courage to set boundaries where needed and the grace to respond in love, even when it is difficult. Surround them with Your peace, Lord, and remind them that they are never alone. Help them to lean on You in every interaction and to trust in Your guidance. We pray that You would soften the hearts of those with good intentions so they may be a blessing, and we ask that You would expose and hinder any plans of those with ill intent. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer before each workday, asking Him to guide your steps and guard your heart. If there are specific situations or individuals causing you distress, bring them before God in prayer and ask Him to reveal how you should respond. Remember, you are not alone in this. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

If these coworkers are engaging in behavior that is ungodly or harmful, do not hesitate to seek counsel from a trusted spiritual leader or mentor. Sometimes, the Lord uses others to provide wisdom and support in difficult situations. Above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will never leave you nor forsake you.

We hear how unsettling it can be to work alongside people when you aren’t sure what’s driving them, some with good intentions, some with bad. That kind of daily unease wears on a person, and we’re grateful you shared it so we can pray with you about it.

One thing we’ve learned to lean on in spaces like that is simply asking God for spiritual discernment. Not a one-time prayer, but a quiet, ongoing request: “Lord, give me eyes to see what’s really going on here, and wisdom to know how to respond.” You don’t have to sort out everyone’s motives on your own; the Holy Spirit can guide you in the moment, helping you sense when to extend trust and when to draw a calm boundary.

Practically, it might also help to look around for one or two coworkers you are more at ease with, people you can touch base with, even just for a friendly hello. A small bit of genuine connection can steady you and remind you that you’re not alone in that environment. And instead of carrying a sense of threat toward those with bad intentions, you can quietly release them into God’s hands. That doesn’t mean pretending the danger isn’t real, but it can keep your own heart from becoming weighed down with suspicion or resentment.

Father, we ask You to settle this one’s spirit. Grant them clear, quiet discernment to navigate every interaction, and the courage to set honest, kind limits where needed. Let Your peace, the kind the world can’t give, guard their heart and mind in Christ. Surround them with at least one safe, trustworthy person they can count on, and guide their steps each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I have prayed for you, and now let me urge you to take those uncomfortable feelings and lay them before the Lord, for anxiety about your coworkers, whether their intentions be good or ill, will not add one cubit to your peace. Do you not see how our Savior commands, "Do not be anxious," for such worry unfits you to meet the difficulty itself? If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it? Yet I know the trial is real; the proud and the perverse can lodge in the workplace as bad lodgers in the chambers of your heart, breaking the windows of your tranquility and spoiling your inward rest.

Give them notice to leave at once. Cast those vain thoughts upon your Master, for He has said, "No man shall set on you to hurt you," if you walk in His ways. Your protection is not in your own scheming but in the angelic keeping that attends the King's highway. And what a comfort, if God has a purpose to make you useful among these troubled souls, your life is charmed until His work is done.

Trust Christ with your daily walk; do not measure His grace by your own bushel. The thickest darkness of a coworker's malice cannot shut out the light of His countenance upon you. Look to Him, and He shall melt the heaviness of your soul, turning fretfulness into holy reliance.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The peace of God, which passes all understanding, must rule in your heart. When those thoughts fight, one tempting you to revenge or bitterness, the other bidding you endure, let peace stand umpire and give the prize to endurance. For God made peace with you of His own will, not because you earned it. Do not seek a peace that comes from avenging or escaping ill, but the peace which Christ left, saying, "My peace I give unto you." That peace renders you stronger, for it is not an external truce with the world, but a union with Him and, through Him, with one another.

Some coworkers have good intentions, others bad. Yet consider: if you let strife or unease ferment, you war against members of Christ. No matter how open to contempt they may appear, it is not the will of your Father that one of these little ones should perish. Do you fight the very one for whom God became a servant and was slain? Remember, the peacemakers are called sons of God; those who stir disturbance are acting as sons of the devil. Do not let the ugliness of contention stain your soul the way luxury stains the body, making everything turbid and misty before the eyes. Fasting from anger and gossip is a great good; it restores composure and beauty.

In the churches, we cry "Peace unto all" again and again. Let those words not be merely a form. Receive that peace in your mind, and when you encounter difficult colleagues, say in your heart, "Peace unto all," that you may be at peace with them. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Even when an ill-intentioned person persists, do not let your own heart be troubled; keep the peace which Christ gave, a peace the world cannot take. I pray the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times, in every way, so that you may not be harmed by the trouble of the world, but remain steadfast, and see the Lord.

The discomfort you feel is something the Lord takes seriously, and He invites you to bring it to Him. That very unease can drive you into His presence, which is exactly where you need to be. When you’re around people who unsettle you, whether their intentions seem good or bad, it exposes how much you need a work of the Spirit inside your own heart. Loving those who rub you the wrong way isn’t something you can talk yourself into. You can’t just list their good traits and decide to tolerate them. Real love, the kind Scripture calls agape, takes a supernatural change that only God can bring about. Trying harder in your own strength will only frustrate you. Instead, ask Him to fill you with His love for them, because He loves them, enough to send His Son for them.

Don’t fall into the trap of trying to balance out your negative feelings with little acts of niceness, as if good deeds could atone for a resistant heart. God isn’t keeping a scale. He cares far more about the attitude of your heart than the face you put on at work. When you look at the Lord and His perfect holiness, you stop comparing yourself to your coworkers and thinking, “Well, I’m not so bad compared to them.” That purity will humble you and make you cry out for His mercy, for yourself and for them. And it’s out of that humility that genuine prayer for those who trouble you can begin.

Jesus told us to love our enemies and to pray for those who despitefully use us. That doesn’t mean their behavior is harmless or that you have to pretend everything is fine. But God causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the just and the unjust. He isn’t partial, and He calls you to reflect that same mercy. When someone’s intentions are bad, the natural response is resentment or fear. But you can take shelter in the secret place of the Most High, where His truth becomes your shield. As you abide there, He will protect your heart from bitterness and from the snare of the enemy who wants to use those relationships to discourage you.

At times it may look like nothing good could come from this strain. You’re seeing only a small piece of the picture, and right now it feels bad. But God often allows temporary discomfort to shape something eternal in you, His own likeness. Pray that your reactions, even when you stumble, won’t keep you down. Falling isn’t the disaster; staying down is. The righteous man falls and rises again. So when you catch yourself with a wrong attitude toward a coworker, get back up quickly, confess it, and ask the Lord for fresh grace.

I am praying for you, that your workplace becomes a place where you learn to lean on Christ in a new way, and that you’ll see His wisdom unfold as He works both in your heart and in the lives around you. Let Him handle the intentions of others. Your part is to stay close to Him, to trust His protection, and to walk in the love that only His Spirit can produce.
