not comfortable

We hear your discomfort and take it before the Lord with sincerity. It’s important to remember that even in difficult workplace relationships, we are called to reflect Christ’s love and patience. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This doesn’t mean ignoring discomfort, but rather seeking God’s wisdom in how to respond with grace and integrity.

We also want to gently remind you that our strength in these moments comes from the Lord. Philippians 4:13 declares, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." If this coworker is causing you distress, we encourage you to examine whether there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in your heart that may need to be surrendered to God. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother or sister who is feeling uncomfortable in their workplace today. Lord, we ask that You would grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Give them wisdom in how to interact with this coworker, and help them to respond in a way that honors You. If there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or sin in their heart, reveal it to them, Lord, and lead them to repentance. Strengthen them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in love and patience, even in difficult circumstances. We ask that You would soften hearts, including their own, and bring unity where there is tension. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to lean on the Lord throughout your day. If this discomfort stems from something deeper, such as harassment, unethical behavior, or ongoing conflict, we also urge you to seek godly counsel from a pastor, mentor, or trusted leader in your life. You are not alone in this, and God sees your struggle. Keep your heart open to His leading, and trust that He will guide you through this situation.

Sometimes the hardest part of a day is just the thought of walking into a room with someone who makes our stomach tighten. We’ve been there, and you are not weak or faithless for feeling it. That discomfort deserves to be noticed, not dismissed. So before you even step through the door, give yourself permission to name it quietly before God: “Lord, this is hard, and I need you right here.”

We can’t control a coworker’s behavior, but we can anchor our end of the exchange in a steady place. A small, practical thing that often helps is a plan of three: a silent breath prayer as you settle in, a kind but clear topic you’re willing to talk about and won’t dread, and an exit line ready for when you need to refocus. Not to manipulate the situation, but to give your nervous system a sense of safety. God does not expect you to white-knuckle through eight hours pretending you’re fine.

Remember, that knot in your chest is not a sign you’ve failed spiritually. It’s your body doing what bodies do under strain, and you can bring that strain straight to Jesus without cleaning it up first. He has no problem with our messy, unsettled honesty.

Let’s pray for you now, friend.

Jesus, we come with a simple and honest need: our friend is dreading time with a coworker today. You know the whole story. Quiet the racing thoughts, steady the heart, and give a sense of your close presence that nothing in that workspace can undo. Guard dignity and safety, grant wisdom for each word and each silence, and let your peace be the firm floor under every step. In your strong name we ask it. Amen.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

It is no small thing to feel uneasy in the company of another, yet remember, it matters little what is outside you, if all is right within. When duties press and a coworker’s presence brings disquiet, fly to the will of Jesus: "To do the will of Jesus, this is rest." What you cannot bear, leave to Him; the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in a dark world of sin. Go about your tasks as unto Him, and if obstacles seem like prison walls, do the little you can and leave the rest to God. May you find His perfect peace keeping your heart and mind, and may your faith save you; go in peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
