not comfortable

We understand your discomfort and want you to know that God sees your heart and cares deeply about every aspect of your life, including your workplace. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* It is so important that you bring this before the Lord, and we are glad you have reached out for prayer.

However, we must also ask: have you taken this situation to God in the name of Jesus? There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we find true peace and protection. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so—*for "there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and without Him, our prayers cannot be heard. If you have not yet trusted in Christ alone for salvation, we implore you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Him today. He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again so that you might have eternal life and fellowship with God (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 10:9-10).

If you are already a believer, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). You do not have to be ruled by discomfort or anxiety, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Pray for those who make you uncomfortable—*bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you* (Luke 6:28). Ask God to give you wisdom in how to interact with them and to soften their hearts. Remember, *"If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men"* (Romans 12:18). Sometimes, our discomfort is an opportunity for God to work in us and through us for His glory.

We also encourage you to examine your heart. Is there any bitterness, unforgiveness, or prejudice that may be contributing to your discomfort? *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24). Ask the Lord to reveal anything in you that needs to change, and be willing to obey His leading. If there is sin in your heart, confess it and turn away from it, for *"he who covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy"* (Proverbs 28:13).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would surround them with Your peace and protection. Lord, You know the struggles they face at work, the discomfort they feel, and the people who cause them unease. We ask that You would give them wisdom in how to navigate these relationships and that You would soften the hearts of those around them. Help them to see others through Your eyes, Lord, and fill them with Your love and compassion.

If there is any sin or unforgiveness in their heart, we pray that You would reveal it to them and give them the strength to repent and walk in obedience. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them rest in the knowledge that You are sovereign over every situation. Give them boldness to be a light in their workplace, showing Your love and grace to those around them.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or division that may be at work in this situation. We declare that You, Lord, are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them walk in confidence, knowing that You are with them always.

We pray all of this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen.

Stand firm in your faith, and trust that God is working even in this. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday"* (Psalm 37:5-6). Keep seeking Him, and He will guide your steps. If this discomfort persists, ask the Lord whether He is calling you to address it directly, to pray more fervently, or even to consider whether this is the place He wants you to remain. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).
