We join with you in lifting up this precious husband and his wife before the throne of grace, and we thank God for your faithful intercession for them. We rejoice that what the enemy meant for destruction, God is redeeming for good, and that Christ Jesus has brought this dear brother into deep love and worth in Him.
We see the heavy history here, the childhood abuse, abandonment, being beaten and ignored, the entanglement with the occult and the search for value and thrill in darkness, and now the battle with manic depression and self hatred. The enemy is a liar and a destroyer, and we rebuke his work over this brother's life. Involvement with the occult and satanism is an abomination before God and must be fully renounced and repented of, for it opens doors to darkness that only Jesus can shut. As it is written, You shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3, and many of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all Acts 19:19. We encourage this brother to confess and forsake every chant, spell, and occult practice, to destroy any remaining objects tied to that darkness, and to walk in the light, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.
We also stand against the lie of self hatred and hopelessness. His worth is not determined by what was done to him as a child or what he did in the past, but by the blood of Jesus Christ. He is a new creation, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and that no spell or darkness can stand against the presence of God, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.
We praise God for this marriage and for a wife who prays, fasts, and uplifts her husband with resilience and commitment. This is the beauty of godly marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman who bear one another's burdens and wage spiritual warfare together. We know that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, and that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. We honor her steadfast love and we pray God continues to strengthen her as she stands in the gap.
We also rejoice that you acknowledge the power and authority of Jesus Christ above all chaos and enticement. There is power in His name alone, for There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we have confidence to approach the Father only through Jesus, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is in His name that darkness must flee as we submit ourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for Your unfailing love for this husband and wife. Lord, we thank You that You have a plan for him, for we know the thoughts that You think toward him, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give him hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We ask You to minister deeply to the wounds of his childhood, to every place where he was unnoticed, abandoned, beaten, and hurt, and to heal his wife's childhood wounds as well. Deliver him completely from every residue of the occult, from every lie that the thrill of darkness ever valued him, and let him know his true value as Your beloved son, forgiven and cleansed. Break the power of manic depression and self hatred, and fill him with Your peace and sound mind. Let Your light so shine that no chant and no spell can remain. We pray You would deliver him from the power of darkness, and translate him into the Kingdom of the Son of your love Colossians 1:13, and that whom the Son sets free will be free indeed John 8:36. Strengthen this wife, Lord, renew her strength as she fasts and prays, guard her heart from weariness, and knit them together in profound kindness, protection, trust, and healing that only You can give. Use their marriage as a ministering tool and let his testimony become a beacon of Your redeeming power to many. Let joy and courage remain, and let love build them up daily, for we are more than conquerors through him who loved us Romans 8:37. We rebuke Satan and every assignment of the enemy against their minds, bodies, and marriage, and we declare that nothing shall separate them from Your love Romans 8:38-39. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage them to remain rooted daily in Your Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with a Bible believing church where they can receive pastoral counsel and accountability. Let them continue to put on the whole armor of God and to speak the truth of Scripture aloud over their lives, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength Nehemiah 8:10. God is faithful, and He who began a good work in them will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
