There was the war with Iran, which involved countries in the Bible area. I got the "feel" that this was prophetic, but then a ceasefire was signed, everyone is behaving, and back to normal. This has happened many times. Now I don't know if God "got soft," It's just happening in "spurts" instead of a straight line, or the verse "When they are saying peace and security, sudden destruction will come upon them like a woman in travail and they will not escape." To me, I'm kind of disappointed because I'm heading towards certain problems, and was kind of hoping when seeing WHAT I THOUGHT WAS a certain prophetic incident come to pass only to go back to normal... also how can it happen if it wavers back and forth? When it finally happens, I'm gonna be like "yeah sure sure." So I don't know why the "wavering." Then I hear other Christians, but to me it's maddening. Then I hear other Christians "getting excited" too and it turns out to be another false alarm.

We understand your deep longing to see God’s prophetic word fulfilled and your frustration when events that seem to align with Scripture fade into "normal" once again. The tension between watching for signs of the end times and living faithfully in the present is a real struggle for many believers. Let us come before the Lord together in prayer and reflection, seeking His wisdom and peace.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that ache for the fulfillment of Your promises. We confess that sometimes our eagerness to see Your plans unfold can lead to disappointment or even doubt when events do not unfold as we expect. Lord, we ask for Your clarity and patience as we wait for Your perfect timing. Help us to trust in Your sovereignty, even when we do not understand the delays or the seeming "wavering" of circumstances. Remind us that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Strengthen our faith so that we do not grow weary or cynical, but instead remain steadfast in hope, knowing that You are working all things together for Your glory.

Your Word tells us that in the last days, many will be deceived, and false signs will arise (Matthew 24:4-5, 24). It is easy to become excited when world events seem to align with prophecy, but we must remember that only You know the exact day and hour (Matthew 24:36). We must guard our hearts against speculation and fear, focusing instead on living lives that honor You, no matter what is happening in the world. The apostle Paul warns us that "when they are saying, 'Peace and safety,' then sudden destruction will come upon them" (1 Thessalonians 5:3). This verse is a sobering reminder that the world’s idea of peace is not the same as Yours, and we must remain alert and prepared, not lulled into complacency.

We also want to gently rebuke the lie that You have "gone soft" or that Your plans are somehow inconsistent. Your Word declares that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The delays we see are not a sign of weakness or indecision on Your part, but rather a reflection of Your mercy and longsuffering. You are patient, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Every moment of delay is an opportunity for more souls to turn to You, and we must trust that Your timing is perfect, even when it does not align with our desires or expectations.

It is also important to address the frustration you feel when other believers seem to "get excited" over what later proves to be a false alarm. We must remember that we are all growing in our understanding of Scripture and that none of us sees the full picture. Instead of allowing frustration to turn into cynicism, let us encourage one another in love and humility, spurring one another on toward deeper study of Your Word and greater dependence on Your Spirit. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Let us be a community that builds one another up, not one that fosters division or discouragement.

As we wait for the fulfillment of prophecy, let us not grow idle or distracted. Jesus tells us to "occupy until I come" (Luke 19:13 KJV). This means we are to live lives of purpose, sharing the gospel, making disciples, and walking in obedience to Your commands. The signs of the times should not paralyze us with fear or speculation but should motivate us to live with urgency and passion for Your kingdom. Let us be found faithful when You return, whether that is in our lifetime or in generations to come.

Lord, we pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon Your people. Give us discernment to recognize the times we are living in, but also the wisdom to live wisely and faithfully in them. Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), rather than on the shifting sands of world events. Fill us with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May we be a people who walk in hope, not disappointment, and who trust in Your perfect plan, even when we cannot see the full picture.

Finally, we want to remind you that our hope is not ultimately in the fulfillment of prophecy but in the person of Jesus Christ. He is the One who holds the future, and He is the One who has already secured our salvation. No matter what happens in the world, we can rest in the assurance that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Let us keep our eyes fixed on Him, knowing that He is coming again, and when He does, every prophecy will be fulfilled in perfect accordance with Your will. Until then, let us live as faithful witnesses, shining Your light in a dark world and pointing others to the hope we have in Christ. Maranatha—come, Lord Jesus!

Remember when Jesus told us that no one knows the day or the hour, not even Him? (Matthew 24:36) That's a tough pill to swallow sometimes, isn't it? But it's a reminder that we're not in control. God is.

We can't let our disappointment turn into doubt or cynicism. Instead, we need to trust that God knows what He's doing, even when we don't understand. He's working all things together for His glory, and that includes the delays and the "wavering" we see around us.

And let's not forget, God's not gone soft. He's still the same God who was, who is, and who is to come. (Revelation 1:8) He's patient, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) Every moment of delay is an opportunity for more souls to turn to Him.

Interestingly enough, I used to think the opposite. When it seemed close to Rapture time, I still had unsaved loved ones to be saved, also to my natural mind the idea of being turned into a spirit 1000s of feet in the air kind of "creeper me out." But now most of the loved ones have passed away, my own circumstances have changed for the worse, and I went the complete other extreme... from trying to slow it down to trying to rush it!!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
