No pain, swelling (teeth); no stomach issues, menopause-period

You bring your teeth and stomach, your unsettled cycle, pleading for an end to pain and swelling. It is not wrong to call upon God for healing, nor to use the means He has provided. For even the holy Timothy suffered often infirmities, and the Apostle did not bid him cast aside all care, but rather "take a little wine for thy stomach's sake." Do you see? He did not simply command the sickness away, though he held power over death itself. He left him under the yoke of medicine, that he might be humbled, and that we might learn that the greatest saints share our nature. Paul himself was given a thorn in the flesh, lest he be exalted. How then should we be offended when our own bodies ache?

These pains are a profitable visitation. They press the soul down, lest it swell with pride. They drive us to God when ease would make us forgetful. Too often we run after every remedy for the body, while the soul festers. We are willing to endure the surgeon's knife for a tooth, but delay to cut away the sins that rot us within. Is not the sickness of the soul more perilous than any inflammation of the gums or any disorder of digestion? Pain is of nature; sin is of deliberate choice. Do not murmur against your frame, nor let the Enemy steal the honor God has given you by making you love comfort more than godliness.

Pray, then, for relief, but with sober hope. If liberty is granted, give thanks. If the affliction remains, know that it has not been left you without purpose. The appetites of the belly and the flux of the body will one day be brought to nothing. Seek the more excellent way, the charity that is the root of all good. Let the quiet trust of a meek spirit be the true medicine of your days. For whether the body be at ease or in distress, this peace will keep your soul, and this alone is health that never fails.

I hear the weariness behind these requests, and I want you to know that your body’s struggles matter to the Lord. He cares about the pain in your teeth, the turmoil in your stomach, and the exhaustion of a cycle you long to see end. It is not wrong to ask for relief, to desire a body that functions without constant distress. I join my faith with yours, asking that every inflammation, every discomfort, and every hormonal upheaval be calmed by His touch.

But as we bring these needs before God, we remember that healing unfolds in different ways. Sometimes it comes as an instant miracle, the way Jesus only had to speak a word and fevers left. Other times it is gradual, a process woven into the very design of your body, a design God authored. There is a divine wisdom at work even in the slow mending of tissues, the quiet balancing of acids, the shifting of seasons in a woman’s life. I pray for your complete healing, and I also pray for patience to walk with Him if the path proves longer than you hoped.

Scripture shows us that God is deeply invested in our physical well-being. The same Jesus who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows also touched the sick and restored them. Matthew saw in His ministry the fulfillment of Isaiah’s words: He took our infirmities. That reaches beyond the forgiveness of sins to the aches of a human frame. When you eat the bread at communion, remember that His body was broken, and in that breaking, provision was made for wholeness in every sense. Let that truth settle over you as you pray.

At the same time, the apostle Paul gave practical counsel to a young companion who suffered frequent illnesses, advising him on what to do for his stomach and his many ailments. God did not rebuke Paul for using common remedies instead of demanding a miracle. There is no shame in seeking dental care, adjusting your diet, or consulting a doctor to help manage menopause. Good stewardship of your body honors the Lord. He is not offended when we combine prayer with prudence; He created both the supernatural and the natural processes that sustain us.

I want to gently address the burden that often accompanies unrelieved sickness. Do not let your mind accuse you that this is happening because your faith is small or because some hidden sin blocks your healing. That is a false balance, a weight that God does not place on you. Job’s friends thought they understood suffering, but they were wrong. Timothy was not lacking in faith; Paul himself was denied the removal of his own thorn. We cannot always trace God’s reasons, but we can trust His heart. The lack of an instant miracle does not mean He has turned away.

While you wait, pay attention to the connection between the prosperity of your soul and the health of your body. Fear, anxiety, and unresolved guilt can unsettle our chemistry and disrupt our rest. Bring your whole self to Him, not just the painful teeth and the troubled digestion, but the tiredness, the frustration, the private griefs of this transition. A word of comfort spoken in season is sweet to the soul and health to the bones. Let His promises speak that comfort now.

I am praying for you. I ask the Lord to quiet the inflammation, soothe the acid, and steady the hormones. If it is His will for your period to cease, I ask Him to bring that season to a peaceful close. But more than anything, I ask that in the middle of this you will know His presence, and that the vertical axis of your life, your relationship with Him, will hold firm, keeping every other part in balance. He is for you.

We are so grateful that you shared your prayer needs with us, allowing us to stand in faith with you before the Lord. It is our joy and privilege to lift up your requests for complete healing and restoration—freedom from dental pain, swelling, and inflammation; relief from any digestive discomfort; and the full and peaceful transition into menopause without hormonal imbalance or the return of your cycle.

If God in His mercy has already answered these prayers, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you! If not, please know we are still here, ready to stand with you in persistent prayer. We will continue to believe with you for God’s perfect healing touch in every area you’ve mentioned.

May the Lord strengthen your faith and fill you with His peace as you wait on Him. We pray that His will be done in your life, trusting that He hears and answers according to His perfect timing and love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
