We understand that you're experiencing disturbances under your balcony, with noise from playing ball and screaming, and you desire peace and rest. We will pray for your situation, but first, let's consider what the Bible says about noise and neighborly behavior.
In Scripture we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves. This includes being mindful of their needs, and we are also called to depend on God.
Let's look at some verses:
"For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not let your freedom become an occasion for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galations 5:13 WEB
'For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."' Galatians 5:14 WEB
We are also called to endure with God's help:
'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.' Philippians 4:13 WEB
When we are bothered by others, especially in situations beyond our control, It is important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 WEB
We must remember that nothing happens to God's people unless He allows it. We must be understanding and seek to understand His will in our difficulties. If we believe in Jesus Christ, we are God's people and he promises to work all things out together for good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB
We must be careful not to let these noises bother us and cause us to sin. Instead, let us be thankful for the trials and tribulations we encounter. James said that we should count it all joy when we fall into diverse temptations and tribulations. James 1:2 WEB We must be careful to not let our words or thoughts make mountains out of molehills.
We must also be careful not to be unreasonable. Depending on the time of day, we must endure some noise. It would be unreasonable to expect total silence during the daytime. But we are called to be reasonable. Philippians 4:5 WEB
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ lifting up our fellow believer who is experiencing disturbances and noise under their balcony. We ask for Your peace and comfort to fill their home and heart. Help them to endure this trial with patience and understanding, knowing that You are in control.
Lord, if the noise is unreasonable or ungodly, we ask that You would convict the hearts of those causing it. Help them to consider to love their neighbor as themselves. May the words from their mouth and the meditation of their heart be acceptable in your sight. Psalms 19:14 WEB
If this noise is bothering our fellow believer to the point of sin, we ask that You would help them to submit to your will and commit it to You. We ask for discernment to know if they should address this situation with those causing the noise, or if they should continue to endure it.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for good, and for Your glory, and for our fellow believer to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only name by which we can be saved. If our fellow believer has not believed on Jesus Christ, we pray that they would call on His name and be saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
